That was a ridiculously fun game. I was the oak. I thought i was the only one to get an unhandled. Thats the kind of games (without the unhandled) that make me stay with this game.

 

I'll give you a hint:  You didn't play much better than them, and that's the beauty of Demigod.

 

L2Cap flags.  This game isn't about who can get the highest kills.  2 flag locks on your Portals would of sent you crying home to mama.

Had a fun game a while ago on Cataract where the team I was on had priests, and they had giants. We could've gotten catas, but didn't. Even with the opposing team locking the side portals, they couldn't bring us down. Didn't help that their UB kept playing as if they were invincible when they no longer were. So our gold and xp skyrocketed. When we finally hit War Rank 10, one of my teammates bought giants and went to cap their portals. Leaving my withjust 18K gold to upgrade them. Soon, our giants > their giants. And our demis > their demis.

All because they sent giants at us.

 

 

simply put 2 towers @ the portal flag as EVERY map has on their portals flags... its not that hard.... more towers in the front? did u even thinked about erebus who doenst get hit ONCE by towers when capping portals on cataract?

as being one of the players: my m8s really didnt pull this one through. i was constantly harrasing them about how important it is to HOLD the portal flag in the enemy base.

they did not lock or even treid to get the other portal...it went that bad that i started CAPITAL LETTERS all the way .

but it was a good game with flawed teamplay.

The first team to giants that can utilize the creep waves to control the maps flags and supress the opponents team from getting giants will always win.

Ugh it's so silly that some people don't want teamplay and strategy to be rewarded. I think some peopel confuse this game for a mini rpg based around PVP while it's actually a strategy game.

It really surprises me that people are shocked and surprised when they find teams made up of people who like to play together.

 

Not suprised. A random pickup group full of people who dont know eachother simply has no real chance of winning against a " team made up of people who like to play together". Its far from rare to have atleast 1 feeder in your team. Then you have your "soloer" who thinks being as far as possible from any trouble is the best way to go. Then you simply have dumb people who dont seem to know the meaning of "Watch out 3V1

 

Sure atm, its the games fault for not having a team automatch... but as long as custom games are ranked we will see this behaviour even with automatch installed, because some people like being at the top even when they suck VS any competition

no, you did not played much better. the things they have done has made up for your kills.

not dieing and killing others is not hte only thing to mesure! they had a better strategie, obviously. so if there micro would have been a bit better they have been much better than you.

 

exactly this makes the game so nice, the different possibilities to think strategic. it is not all about the dg themself!

Is there any competition out there then? You'd think they would encounter some eventually. It's not like most people seek out easy matches.

I've entered many games that have "good players" in the titles that have people with 30 wins 100 loses or 0 wins 7 loses. Stuff like that. It seems to me like people don't pay attention to game titles anyway.

People will always be at a disadvantage against people who have better teamplay, but isn't that the whole point of the game? This is a team game after all. Why shouldn't you persue perfect teamplay? If you are not prepared to play as a team, why do you enter 3v3 or 4v4 etc? Just play 1v1 so you don't have to worry about people who feed the other team.

I'm guessing that Dariot TB was fire-based? Fire TBs are usually the ones who get their asses kicked while soloing. Hibrids are the best way to go, I think.

On topic :

The reason you lost is this: You were good players that played badly in the beggining, whilst they were bad players that played good in the beggining. By the end, you decided to wake up and develop some strategy, and then you started playing well. Good players playing well vs Bad players playing well........good ones will win all the time. The game was always going to be won by you, you just needed a hard slap in your face to wake up and start developing some strategy.

Edit: I actually seem to think that it does not matter at what you are first. For example I've just played a game right now. My team was UB, Reg, I was Oak, others were UB Reg and Rook. From the start, we were owned. They had first blood ( their UB killed me ), they were at greater levels than us, some of us fed them etc. They destroyed all of our towers on the right side (Cataract) and captured one of our portals (repeatedly) they got to giants 3 minutes before us ( we only had catas). And yet, we won. I kept killing enemies that were attacking our citadel with surge of faith and thus healing my allies with divine justice. Soon, we were able to get giants too. We outleveled them, out flagged them. I was apocalypse, my allies were devastating. And we beat them, even though they got more war rank in the beggining, got to giants, got first blood got everything before us. So I don't think that just because someone has a lead on you means you might as well type in GG.
