As the title says. I didn't think there was an item that drained mana. But today a partner told me "we need mana drain."
"What drains mana?" I asked.
"Item" was his reply.
What am I forgetting about?
Gaunlets of Despair and Warlord's Punisher both steal mana, and Theurgist's Cap reduces mps.
Yeah, I think of those three the only valid one is the Punisher. The Gauntlets... I'm not really sure. 15 mana a shot on average isn't very much. And the Theurgist's cap.. yeah no.
Warlord's Punisher only drains 400 MP every 30 seconds. That seems like practically nothing to me.
Looks like there's no effective mana drain in the game.
Theurgist Cap and Gauntlets of despair, but they are not effective at all. Cap needs like 30% chance to proc and needs to be cheaper. Gauntlets of despiar needs to be either higher % to activate or more mana per shot.
Mana drain is not mana STEAL. It will remove mana from the enemy. Scouring the LUA files showed no gaining of mana after draining it from your enemy.
Yeah, but at least it does damage on hit, hits minions, and adds a passive damage boost too. The others just rather suck in general.
Warlord's Punisher can be surprisingly effective. it will actualyl counter a spell if you drain the mana necessary while the spell is charging up, just like an Interrupt.
hard to use of course since you're never sure just how much mana the enemy really has. its a good harassment tool though. and the AoE effect is very nice for creep farming. not a bad item all things considered.
Yeah, been using it with Rook actually. I only buy cheapo gear with him anyway (rest goes towards citadel) and a punisher is a pretty all around nice item for anyone trying to win a 'long' fight.
It can be prett awesome (punisher) in a 3v3 or4vs4 when an entire team buys the punisher. You can deal serious damage as long as you dont get interupted during its huge cast time.
