Now that Hearts of Life are gone many underused activate items may rise in prominence!

TP + Locks + <New item Here!>

I thought that this item was really buggy.  Maybe that got fixed?

Will have to try it out on UB or Super Smash Oak.

Good thing I play erebus and my auto attacks doesn't account for crap of my damage anyway. \o/

Sludge Slinger: Has the great feature of killing you if you misclick with it.  Until that gets fixed, it stays in the item shop.

Wait, are you serious?

Yup, I'm not sure exactly how the bug occurs, but if you mis the demigod, or try to target them when they are just out of range, or something, then your own DG will become unresponsive to all commands, thus killing them at the very least, and at worst leaving them standing there doing nothing.

It gets you stuck on the spot for like 10 seconds sometimes when you use it.

well then, forget this item.

But can it play Crysis?

Its not consumed on use.

And the worst I have had with this is just nothing happens (like the old Sedna bug). Never been stuck there for 10 seconds and killed because of it...

When your used to it you can avoid getting bugged so much.

i tried it in a few games vs. CPU today just to see if it really does have a noticeable impact.

i found that it does not. slowing auto-attacks by 30% for the first few seconds of a battle is going to save you somewhere in the range of about 200-300 damage (depending on armor levels, enemy attack speed and damage, being in melee range, etc.)

its really a very small amount and not all enemy DG's will actually care that much. doesn't effect their minions or damage spells so you may not even be debuffing the most relevant damage source on the field.

and yea, it bugged out on me alot. got the "stuck for 10 seconds" bug on several occasions. that bug alone is such a huge risk that i would never use this item in a competitive match.

I think "Most underused" seems to be a bad way to phrase it. Perhaps "Most Underestimated/Underrated" would be a better choice. While I don't deny that the Sludge Slinger is probably one of the most unused items in the game the title itself doesn't particularly leave itself open to having following articles.

I'd like to recommend the Universal Gadget for the next one... at least then I won't feel so bad when my opponents keep saying "WTF!" :P

Universal Gadget is pretty awesome.  I almost always get one or two throughout a game. (especially for 'no chase' dg's like rook).  I almost always get 1 extra kill because of it, and it offsets the cost of the item.  And even just healing with it in emergency cases for a good solid 2k is worth it.

I've also had the getting stuck problem with the Sludge Slinger.  I'm not sure if its 10 seconds, but it certainly feels like a geologic age when theres an enemy DG nearby.

i actually used it... i didnt notice any diff in the UB's attack speed that i targetted ... hmm ...

It's pretty noticeable when it works if you use it while oozing on someone as UB.

sludgeslinger can be truly huge - especially late game, especially against a UB or Stats Reg or in conjunction with Ooze.

I'll admit I haven't used it since release because of the many bugs around it - sometimes it will act as a move command instead of proccing on the target..if you are playing something squishy and ranged and it moves you up onto your melee target that's not great...

The sludge slinger suffers from the same bug as the parasite egg.

no.  because auto attacks are  not important.

you get killed by special skills and being ganked..  and the sludge slinger will have minimal impact on both of these situations.  rather it will lead to you getting killed more because u will stop to use a skill.

What's the item that makes a Ring of Fire (like TB's)? Saw someone using it last match, didn't seem to be worthwhile at all.

Can anybody tell me what that "Warp Stone" is suppose to be good at?  My friend got it last weekend during our Lan game.  He thought it was like an unlimited TP scroll.  But when he tried to use it, all it would do is TP him about 1 1/2 inches away; then cool down for 45 secs.  He ask "what good is it?", I told him I had no idea. For $5500, I though it would have some semi-uber use anyway.  If it's for quick getaways, I'd just buy the wand of speed.
