Teleport: health exploit?

Is there some kind of teleport health exploit? I just had a guy in a game who started teleporting and then right before the teleport was finished, it cancelled and he had instantly 1000 health more. I think he tried it a second time too, but it didn't work (the tp just canceled). He wasn't interrupted by us in any case.
