I'm just perplexed how (two of) these bugs were not noticed when testing the previous patch before releasing it. o_O

heh.  No flames required. Patch is out and at the very least, random demigod selection is working as expected.

Are you serious? How do you break a random selection in the first place?

Well, in one of the products designed by our studio the first version of "randomly assign region to player" always put the players in the first regions.  4 players would get regions 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Who got what region was, however, random ;)

It happens...

There is no such thing as a man-made truly random generated anything and whether randomness exists in nature is open for debate.

Take your poker machine for example a basic machine cycles through a string of several million results and then repeats itself, to increase randomness the string cycles independently from button presses and then when a button is pressed the next number in the string at the time of the button press is deemed to be the "RANDOM" result. I guess that means there really is a "SECRET CODE" to the poker machine it's just way off what the locals down the pub might think it is.

If SD cycled a string of possible demigods on a server and then when your game started merely alloted you the next demigod in the string, that would be "RANDOM" enough.

If you've tried attempting to start games with the "random Demigod" selected, you might notice, as I did, that the game doesn't allow you to start. It's as if "random" isn't a valid Demigod choice. I've heard that this doesn't happen all the time, but I've not tried it since my encounter with the problem. Gonna try it tonight!

SyDaemon... really?  This did exist as an issue after 1.1 was released (I understood it to be 100% of the time you couldn't launch a game using random).  This is the not the case with the 1.1 update... I have had 100% success launching random DG games.  Please respond if you find that not to be the case.
