Does Queen of Thorns suck?
Idk nobody plays her and she seems to be the least favorite of all. I dont play her, but does she suck?

The in-game description of Queen is spot on. She has good AE and Siege. She uses a lot of mana, and her skills are restricted. Average players like to wtfpwn other demigods, so she's not that popular. Use her as intended and she's good. Forcing her into an assassin role is like building an AE build with Sedna using odd items. Waste of time.
QoT starts extremely strong early on, and can deny the enemy lots of kills. If the other team does not have a support character (like Sedna, or another QoT), then this is a clear advantage.
That said, later in the game she becomes pretty ineffective due to her main buff not scaling with enemy damage. If the game lasts a long time then she becomes a severe liability.
QoT is a nice char, i lost no game with her
standing long there where the exp comes from in the early game with the absorb shield and then buying the two mana helmets
i go for the towers and stuff
the starting items are the armor 600def the gloves 25dmg and a tele scroll, first point is set in the shield, that works!
Here is how I play my QoT, she is just as capable as any other DG when played properly.
1st 10 levels
Bramble Shield
Ground Spikes
Spike Wave
After 10 it depends on the game, but it's usually either Uproot if there are lots of towers left, or Morale.
Favor is always swift anklet. QoT is probably the viable case study for this item since when you play her right she is rarely taking direct hit points to a point of endangerment. Infact, you want a little dammage to leak through on the 1st rotation as you cycle shields so you can be regenerating. (figure it out)
Regardless, knowing when to be open and when to be closed is paramount to success, and I will not share these secrets with you. ![]()
Ground Spikes gives your minion idols good penetration against DGs as well.
QoT played this way has very high overall DPS and is a pain to hurt.
QoT problems:
I have tried playing as QoT many times, but the aformentioned problems above really restrict her usability.
Sure, she shouldn't ever die if played well, but she won't be getting any kills either unless the enemy refuses to buy a teleport scroll.
On the missing target while chasing, yeah it sucks, but there is a reason. The target is out of range at the time of the attack, so if the target comes back in range it's a pain because you are usually in an attack animation on a different target. In this case you need to issue a move order and then retarget. On the flip side of this, there is also a sweet spot, when chasing a fleeing demigod, at the edge of your range where you can be hitting twice a second because of an animation desynch.
That's it, in a nutshell. Why can't she attack someone that's running away? It takes her from viable to not viable.
Please, can we fix this bug? That would be like having a new DG right there, having a Queen that was viable.
P.S. - Please, can we reevaluate uproot? At it's max, it does 2k to a building...
Let's compare: circle of fire - 1500 at lvl 10, hurts DG's and grunts
Spit - 1650 at lvl 10, can choose building or DG/minion
Either uproot needs to do more damage if it's building only, or be an area of effect...
It needs to affect demigods as well.. end of story
Minion build can definetly kill 1v1....you're just a bad player.
Explain to me how you hope to get a kill when the enemy can just use a 3000hp potion, or teleport away.
he's not gonna explain anything to you. he's trolling. just report him.
I know ShakenBake has a good point but can't the same be said for Regulus, Fire TB, Erebus with Pure minions and any demigod or any other demigod that doesn't save their interupt ability.
Well, we can all argue personal opinion, but I think someone should at least note that the Queen has the lowest win percentage of any DG (Beast has the highest). So all things equal, that is a pretty decent indicator.
My anecdotes with her generally involve her simply being unable to pull her weight in a game. She has no stopping power, ground spikes and spike wave are really not good enough abilities, especially against opponents with some armor on, and scale terribly. Level 4 Ground spikes does 675 damage in an area, and is pretty much the worse AoE spell in the game because of it. It won't even kill upgraded priest grunts. Spike Wave is an awful boulder roll.
Shield starts off nicely, but as any Sedna player who has tried to play her without pounce knows, you need some teeth with your healing, or you just aren't effetive in 2v2's or greater.
The only thing the Queen can do truly well is kill buildings. Ground Spikes is an amazing tower killer, due to towers having low armor (if any?) but I think as the player base is getting stronger, towers are becoming less and less of a threat in general. Unless you are playing Fortresses, I think this ability is not good enough.
All 3 of those demigods have a very good burst finishing move, and most people don't use a potion / teleport until its too late, or dont use one at all.
Yeah, it can in fact be said, and is part of the reason those builds have their own problems. It is also why Robust regen potions are a lot more cost effective than a lot of people think! And yeah, DG's with a kill at hand who waste an unneeded interrupt and let someone get away are kinda asking for it.
What he said. Play her as siege and support. Then she's .... adequate, at least.
Yep, I spotted him trolling before. Don't feed the trolls, even though it's tempting because they are so cute.
Queen is playable but Shamblers feel weak and ineffective to me at least. And leveling uproot at levels 11+ seems pointless as it feels like a total waste of mana since ground spikes are so effective at destroying towers. So it feels like she peaks at level 10.
So yeah, shamblers need fixin', and uproot needs to be a more useful alternative. Spike wave, ground spikes and bramble are all solid, though. Maybe make uproot a passive effect for ground spikes and give shamblers something else useful like an offensive ability for killing/snaring dgs.
I only hope that the Queen's 43% win percentage (as opposed to the 63% win percentage of the UB) does not keep players from joining your side. Because statistically it would be wiser to join the other team. ![]()
a QoT shield/thorn build is realy nice. you can stay long where the exp is generated, you can follow leaving demigods a bit through towerlines and you can protect your mates with the absorb-shield too whats an outstanding ability plus especialy if you go for the first towers
If QoT sucks I wonder how much does she charge?
Sorry really couldn't resist.... I'm still new but QoT is literally the only character I even use, the reasons that her style is restricting is what keeps me going to her. While what I notice other demigods have literally 2 different ways (generals seem to have 3) of being used in game, all builds and uses QoT seem to in the very end be the same.
The cape is good on Leviathan and dark side Exile, that's really about it.
NECRO
If you want to learn to play QoT and completely destroy everyone use this B.O. It makes her completely unstopable.
You are an awful poster. If you feel he's wrong explain how and back yourself up with facts, otherwise you're just making a tit of yourself. Nobody cares about how good you think you are.
Don't think he cares much... he was banned a good month or two ago.
