3. More demigods. This is a topic that comes up on every call with Gas Powered Games. Right now, they’re focusing on finishing up the demo but getting some sort of pipeline of new demigods is something we think is critical.

Frogboy said that. So the new demis that were promised 2 months from the release date have been delayed even longer it will be 3 months in 4 days. After a hole extra month with no  info about them or even a eta on this when it is rediculous.  if they said  the demis would be here in 3-4 months i would think that is exceptable  but,  frogboy said  that they would be new content I.E demigods and maps in 2 months so far i havn't seen anything like it.

So by the looks of it the new demigods will be here August if were lucky.

The new maps Frogboy said they cost virtualy nothing to make in comparison to the demigods. so i have to ask him this how comes that  we havn't got any new maps by now. If they cost little to make  it would make more sense to have more of them

Frogboy could have done loads of things to get more information 

1  Phone up GPG saying we need updates on the demigods progress and  have them send over pictures.

2  He could have sent a person over to GPG   to ask about the demigods and the new content and after got the person who he sent to right about whats going on so he can put a brief version of it on  the forum.

 

 

No matter how you look at it  demigod is fall down the list games to play there are quiet a few coming out, and/or finding new ones i hardly play demigod anymore i find it repetertive and have gotten tierd of it.

The game had its blows. The shitty multiplayer,  the lack of demo, the content,  the modding and loads of things  but, i would say the major  thing i was disapointed in was that there is no campaigns at all, no missions,  NOTHINg. I think this is the  second  game i have played. That had no missions  at all come on i know loads of games that have missions  even if the missions wernt vital to gameplay such as Dawn Of War 3, the campaigns for number 3 was all the maps in the game added to a  systems of planets with only the main bases having a map maded for them

so in my personal oppion  the game gets a rating of  6.8 on release  7.9 a month after  6.9 after two months  and today i rate it at a 6.2. I think it is going to get alot worse  before it gets better

P.S For everyone  who thinks i don't know the difference between SD and GPG  shh before you type out anything but frogboy  was the one who said there would be new content and it was said on behalf of GPG seeing as the pubilishers  job is to  communicate adverstise and sell the game.

they did promise 2 months from the release date so lets see  u said they didn't say it  hmm  wow that is such convincing evidence that they didn't  but were is the proof they didn't have u read  every post on  the forum and u read everything said in everyones pms have you read everything on the irc

hmm so ur basing the  no one ever said on  the fact u dont know if anyone  promised it  man u have  a great mind right there

Your claim above is that his absence of evidence to the contrary proves the validity of your claim.  That is pretty damn weak logic, and all this despite the fact your point also has no evidence either.

i remember about i think it was 2 weeks after release i asked on the irc   any info on when the new demis will be out or any info i think it was carli elf who said 2 months form release but i can't remember the name  fully  but i do remember that we were suppost to be getting new demigods  2 months from release as in 15th of june  it is coming up to the 15th of july

ok i got a question for everyone  how lomng will u wait for new content  then ill right the date of the average down and post again on that day  saying this iss the average of  when people  wanted the  content and it hasn't apeared

Actually, I know for a fact, in IRC chat, Frogboy stated that Demigods where planned to release 2 weeks after release of the game - so they could see how the current Demigods play out and utilize the two new ones to balance the weak points. This statement was made. (Period)

The other problems roared and crippled the game, so they (SD & GPG) focused on getting those issues solved... which has taken up until this point, and the only real issue that was solved has been the connection issue... our stats still don't work, achievements still don't work, Pantheon is still screwy, and thus, these issues are in fact still outstanding....

New Demigods got pushed back to 2 months from release, yet we still have the above issues. So they will and are getting pushed back till X time frame, as in whenever it ready. GPG is focused on Sup Com 2, as stated already by Frogboy.

 

All you people about to flame me, stay your fingers. I feel the Demigod is a TRUE diamond in the rough, it is a gold mine, but the mine has collapsed on itself. This game could be an insanely great game, but their is nothing coming out to ADD to the current gameplay. I understand you need to fix the bugs, but this is the kind of game that needs constant feature additons...

The game shipped with so few maps, at the bare minimum we should have been given a few DLC Maps by now... to hold us over until this game gets the new content it deserves.

the new DGs will arrive soonest at late summer, ......GPG and frogboy said, that the new DGs are in the pipeline....but that was 6 weeks ago and we still have no informations about the new ones, no concept arts, no pics, no description....NOTHING.

so their development-status is on a low level....

GPG is focusing their ressources on SupCom2, and the little team still working with DG is to small to support the game effectively

 

EVERYTHING needs more time than expected.

DG was released as a BETA with a huge lack of contant and game-elements, they promised us to correct this mess, but everything needs much more time than expected

i  have played this game  since it was released i  personaly think that  the beta testers  did a poor job  they could have also did a multiplayer beta like most popular games do these days dow2 had a multi beta so  i got to ask  does GPG and SD want to move up the ladder on best games and best developing teams

GPG isn't even in the top 100 of best developers  funny thing is Jagex who made runescape  are 26  i believe

 demigod is the best graphical and model wise game i have played  but  just because of lack of content in every way this game isn't  going to last

we keep hearing promises about the content is on the way

frogboy said he would like there to be  2 new demis every 2 months arround about a month a demi  i think at this rate it will be double that before we get the first lot not even mentioning the second lot

creating a model is not hard, creating a good balanced character is the issue. But I agree they could at least shows us concepts...or if they have no ideas, ask us to provide...

ideas  they have a concept thread that has like 200 concepts in  how many do u need  and the charcater doesn't have to be balanced to be shown to the public   i would be happy with the character standing still   as just a model  even with out texture  just nowing that they arn't siting on there asses flicking paper balls at eachother  will be good

demicom that is what i am saying and what seems to not get threw   simply  knowing what they are doing and  how far along they are is a great help  it takes  less than 10 seconds  to take a screen shot and put it on paint  then maybe 40 secs to open  photobucket  upload it and then post a thread say  here is your fucking pics of the new demis  with the pictures

it isn't hard  so why do they make it sound so hard  i  can be the lazist  person in the world  but i will get things done so  where is the proof they have gotten anything done for fuck sakes it is 3 months how long do they want to take to give out some info

90% of video game companies promise bullshit before a game's release.

I'm sort of developing a translation guide to use for myself. For example, if a companies says "a couple of months", it actually means almost a year.

Really, if I had to guess, we'd be lucky if the new demigods were out by the end of september, my guess is november or so.

Having to please an entire community is just impossible. Perhaps Frogboy did promise a few stuff, but I doubt he ever said they were guarantees. Even if he did give hard promises, his only mistake would have been to promise them at all. Please don't make it sound like he enjoys doing this. He's trying his very best to please everyone with whatever he has to work with. Things seldome ever work out as planned.

The game's just 3 months old for crying our loud. Have all tactics and strategies been exhausted across all Demigods in all maps already? Is the novelty that shallow on the stock content? If people are this hungry for new content (when the old is just 3 months old), even if the new Demigods were released, how long will it be before people crave for more content again?

Sure, modding tools will help immensely, but it's already in SD/GPG's radar so let's be more patient.

Considering they were talking about Hero Classes and Siege Weapons way back when the game first came out (these didn't come until the latest expansion, over 4 years later), it absolutely applies to Blizzard.  In fact, they've stopped giving any kind of timeline, only using vague terms like "soon" when talking about upcoming features (which they rarely do before said features are about to go onto the Public Test Realm).

Because we like playing the game? Moaning about how the new content hasn't come yet achieves nothing, if you want to have a go at GPG/SD on their own forums then have fun with that, I'm going to stick with playing the game I paid for. If new content comes out, great, if it doesn't I'm not bothered. I'd prefer they fix some of the (mostly minor) issues with the current content before making new stuff.

 You can yell at them all you want, but the fact is it means nothing. You have bought the game and already given them your money. The only thing that is guaranteid is what was in the game at the time of release.

 It doesn't matter how long your "willing" to wait for new content. They will release it if and when they feel like it. The more angry the community is the less likely they are to put something out.

 When you buy a game you buy it as is. There is no guaranty anything will be patched or added, that is up to the generosity of the company that made it. Contrary to what people may believe just because you bought their game it does not mean they owe you anything.
