Why No Slaughter in Pantheon?

I was just wondering why 1/4 of the game modes are not played on panth (and ive never seen one on skirmish). I really enjoyed slaughter in the single player mode...

 

Is there a balancing issue or something?

Because slaughter is the most boring of all the game modes, even worse than dominate. It's a good thing slaughter isn't in pantheon.

to me slaughter is much more exciting than dominate or fortress...

they really take a long time but even if both teams are careful and never die, they can still smash the enemies with giants...

(yes i know the cit does loads of damage when attacked but in late-game with strong creeps you can easily overcome it)

Yes, you're right, but that game would take FOREVER, and most people don't think the fun:time ratio is high enough.

I have yet to see slaughter games in custom MP.

They are just not popular, which is interesting because some people certainly play conquest as if it would be slaughter :) Giving way too much credit for individual demigod kills as opposed to holding flags.

Playing slaughter in MP is a long lasting idea of mine and im sure i will try to have a few of those games eventually :)

Playing it against decent players would definitely be fun and allow you to experience the full level/item scale whereas most conquest games can end before you reach level 15 and have little to no room for artifacts.

Slaughter is disabled because its frustrating if your ally feeds oyur enemy. More than in other modes.

I guess the feeding point makes sense...but feeding your enemies early on usually means quick win anyway. Maybe we can bring back slaughter when there is a more complicaed matchmaking system. OR possibly allow player to choose which game types they wish to play (or just toggle slaughter).

 

It just seems to me that the support hero's are built to win this type of game. QOT in particular would be extremely valuable in slaughter. Sheid allows for a better chase of the enemy. If it were part of panth i do think her win reatio would increase. Also. the Rook would be more useful too. People wouldn;t power after him despite his 6 towers.

 

It just seems to me that we have lost an entire aspect of the game.  I would be happy, ETREMELY HAPPY, to see one of two Slaughter matches in every 15 or so games. Just give us that variety back.

Yep, Slaughter is broken, but it's not the game mode's fault.  Because they include maps like Exile and Crucible in Pantheon it's possible to defend your citadel from your health crystal without ever dying, with minimal skill.  I assume it has more to do with this than that it isn't fun.  Slaughter on Leviathan can be pretty cool..
