The starting time for new tournaments

Am I missing some info somewhere that the starting time is stated? Or are those responsible for starting the tournaments on time intoxicated on illegal substances?

Posting the wrong start date for a tournement seems to be becoming a habit. Point me in the right direction and throw small objetcs at me if I am incorrect.

It says 16th... what's the problem? Or is this another case of "I don't know how timezones work"? ;)

In europe the 16th is already gone and I´m a bit frustrated cause I wanted to play today pantheon since i have only little time. So to rely on those stated dates seems to be misleading ! Then they shouldn´t announce any date if they can´t hit it in time !

So you don't know how timezones work.

Whining about the tournament not being started yet is only valid in 4 hours.

The servers all use US East Coast (IIRC) time as their basis for the server update and Pantheon dates. I feel your pain as i am in Australia and i get caught by this often, but you must remember that being a US developed game it uses US timezones.

Once you remember that you should be ok.

Apparently Spooky doesn't know the difference between TIME and DATE, thus the thread title, thus me asking.

Tolerating shoddy info and service has dumbed down the entire industry. And you can suck my timezone.

They didn't post the wrong date, because in SD's timezone it's still July 16th.

EDIT: Damn these quote tags....

As JagerJAck pointed out, you complained about the wrong date in your post, not about the time.

"Am I missing some info somewhere that the starting time is stated?" is what I asked.

They screwed up the last tournament start date, is why it is suspect that they are going to do so aagin.

SD is based in Eastern time zone, according to their HQ info. It's 9pm there... Is that routinely normal business hours for game staff?

:annoyed:

How hard is it to put out a time along with the date? Or even an estimated time.

Yeah its a bit confusing, ingame it says 16/7, it doesnt say ANYTHING about what timezone or even what time during 16/7. I mean its friggin morning 17/7 in europe now. What TIME do they actually start the damn thing?

Also, do they really need 3+ days to update servers/stats b/w pantheon tournements? I mean with a little foresight, couldn't they get this done in 24-36 hrs or less. Its bad enough we have to deal with the quadrillion problems this game suffers from and now I have to sit on my hands for 3 days because pantheon is the only multiplayer mode where I get a respectable connection. No wonder so few people are still playing.

^I agree.

I have wondered myself why the long turnaround. I would have thought TBQH that it could even be a mere hour or so between tourney's..

It's not like the panth needs three days to know who won...thats as good as instant.

Lack of server space at SD perhaps?

It really should detect and adjust for your timezone so it always displays accurate info.  Or at least the time zone should be labelled in the message.

Right on man.  While we're at it let's get rid of all those fancy shcmancy cell phones that automatically update their time too.  Hell, let's get rid of calculators while we're at it, I'm so sick of people being lazy.

My cell phone doesn't update the time automatically ;P

Now I'm angry about it.
