Why all the hate?

Why can't we, as players, unite under that one fact and just have fun? Yes, I know there will be people you don't like, people that annoy you, and people that just SEEM (doesn't mean they are) down right stupid (yours truly). Just because you can insult somebody behind a screen name with no repercussions doesn't mean you should. I'm new to the forum and world, if you couldn't tell ;P , and I've seen more negative than positive here. I say if you do not know all the details of somebody else's situation, treat them with respect. If they insult you, ignore them or send a /hug their way. I see no reason whatsoever why we can't treat eachother civilly and with respect.

Yeah I was hoping that the tighter moderation would lead to more civil discussions myself...

Well let me surprise you, which is that when you're very good at a game, it's incredibly irritating to lose because your ally sucks, or the enemy team are friends and didn't tell you. Learn to play, then come back.

Please elaborate...what does 'Learn to play' entitle?  I really hate the people that say learn to play then come back, without helping the 'n00b' by teaching him some strategies you picked up along the way.  It just comes off as elitest, which is what the OP is adressing in his post.  Be helpful and give the newbies some tips and tricks to help improve their game, rather then scold them for sucking and telling them to 'Learn to play, then come back.'

There ya go!  Perfect.  Tell the newbies your playing with to check the strategy forums after the game and they will learn a lot!  I did the first day I got the game (after receaving a beatdown by normal AI in SP lol!).  So guys, saying "N00b you are terrible, go learn to play and come back" will turn many people off from the community and game.  Instead, when your n00b teammate is feeding the other team, hold back your anger and tell them "Hey man, after this game check out the DG website and read the strat forums.  Lots of good stuff you can learn from there."

Granted a lot of casual players wont care and wont listen, but thats life and we have to deal with it.  But at least approach it civil and try to help.

Well let me surpise YOU, which is that when everyone is having a good forum conversation, it's incredibly irritating to get an annoying troll to ruin the forum. Be nicer to people, then come back.... or don't.
