P2P Trouble

Will there be/is there a patch to solve P2P problems?

I'm one of the many who can't play Demigod online because I can't use peer-to-peer with my ISP, and I can't change ISP without moving out. Hence I am wondering if there is a way to play online without P2P, ie a patch that allows me to connect to a host (like most online games), 'cause my UDP is blocked. That's all I need to know, if that can't be done I'll just get rid of the game. >_>

UDP is blocked by your ISP? This would mean that you can't play some other games too. I.e. most "action" games.

The base networking system is not likely to be changed, sorry. If you'd like to go for a refund, please contact [email protected].

Aye, my ISP blocks UDP because it's the University line.

Never really had any trouble with online games, because most games don't utilize P2P. It's usually a host, and everyone connects to that host. I can't host, but I can connect. In Demigod I also need to be the host, for every online game, and that I cannot.

UDP has nothing to do with P2P. Most games use UDP (almost all FPS games and also many RTS games like WarCraft III). Your problem doesn't sound like it has anything to do with UDP being blocked, but that you simply can't forward the appropriate ports and the NAT facilitator is unable to pounch through for you.
