We've Been Banned =(
After being accused of purposely setting high settings for lowing sim speed, I was banned from this game. We will no longer be playing.

yes the 4 funs/ 4 serious business will be taking a leave of game play.
If you have a crap sim speed and are ruining the fun for everyone in the game, and do not care to adjust your settings.... I'd ban you too.
There is no Ban List, apart from one that player would have to keep themselves. He's, as you so perfectly put, a sore loser. Having siad that, what was your Sim Speed?
This post really belongs in the Hall of Shame rather than as a seperate thread altogether.
Falcon505's sim speed was crapping out a bit. This is because he was on an Asus G50vt laptop and had been playing Call of Duty 4 for about 5 hours, then Demigod for 4. Obviously wasn't doing it on purpose.
Also, lowering settings does not really affect sim speed CallTheVoid.
Well, to be honest, a bad sim speed is almost game breaking so I can understand his frustration, however he shouldn't have reacted the way he did. If your friend was pushing the limits of his computer, perhaps next time he could wait a while between games to allow his machine to cool down? There's no point ruining other people's games if it's avoidable.
Your premade was already on my "probably dont play with" list after the guy from your premade who was hosting rage quit so the stats wouldnt record.
After 2 people in the game dropped as well...
Just admit you are hacking the game poly... hehe
You're right. Too much leet haxxorz.
Changing your settings does effect sim speed... especially your resolution.
Depending on the bottle neck component on your PC, changing settings may have little effect on your actual Sim Speed - being the simulation of the physical components of Demigod rather than Frames Per Second. If your CPU is the weakest part of your system, your Sim Speed won't be improved by lowering your Texture Quality, for example. Also, unless your Sim Speed is one or lower, I don't think the effect on gameplay would be terribly noticeable if I'm recalling Sim Speed's definition correctly.
Nope. Though it may for you under some circumstances this is not the case in general. A sim speed of zero is average, any number higher and you should be fine. Turning AA off or nerfing other niceties will do little to nothing, and unless your seeing minus sim speed there is no need.
ZehDon you recall correctly.
And in the case of the OP, they are just sore losers who are blaming their loss on anything but their ability. I should know...i look for all the excuses in the world all the time...:P
And Poly...their ban list is a note pad next to their keyboard...their loss if they further reduce the amount of players they can have a game with....
My Sim speed goes down to -1 or even -2 since 1.1. Putting all the settings down to low/off changes nothing. I "can" play with all movies, all sound, and all settings to off and keep my sim above 0, but I'm too worried about ruining other peoples game (again) by trying online for anything but 3v3. Waiting for 1.2 for some hope.
BTW, that picture does look like the settings were pretty high ![]()
Slow sim speed = more time to plan and act. Relish the moment.
Low Sim speed gives a cool slowmotion effect, isn't that awesome? ![]()
your shadows look really nice, whenever I turn all my settings up to high, my shadows look so jaggy I just turn them off
are you running on vista / dx10?
orrrrr maybe they look better at low definitions, and they didn't do high definition shadows? (i run at 1920x1080)![]()
Ah, god bless the optimists!

BANN LIST ??
Hahahahahaha ....
That's why there should be no ban list ... every crying loser will add anyone just out of spite with made up charges.
anyone creating a banlist should be banned... ![]()
Eventually there own paranoia will have them all to themselves so maybe its for the best ![]()
Just like in Supreme Commander, turning off shadows and reducing fidelity will yield the largest improvements on sim speed. Other settings will not. I suppose this means that fidelity and shadows are more demanding than other settings.
I had to reduce fidelity to medium and turn off shadows to be able to play 5v5 on Brothers and Mandala above 0 sim speed. Since I've reduced those settings, I don't have problems any more; everyone who had to find ways to make their machines run SupCom when it was the ultimate CPU killer can say the same - reduce fidelity and turn off shadows for better sim speed.
Again, this will only work if the CPU is the bottleneck on your machine as reducing those settings lowers the basic processing required for them.
One of whom was on our team. And our guy dropped ~5 minutes earlier than your guy. We played on. After your guy dropped to even things up, we still played on. And then the host intentionally dropped ~20 minutes later right before your Citadel fell so that the stats didnt record. We both know that we wouldnt have gotten the same curtesy had we lost
Having a host intentionally quit so you dont take the loss is exploiting a bug. Period. You intentionally manipulating your stats in that your team cannot lose because of bad connections, but you are more than willing to take wins against teams that have a player drop due to a bad connection. That you did it as a premade against a PUG when the PUG had to go substantially longer down a player just makes it worse.
Windows 7. The Q6600 and an 8800GTX.
I'm so proud you remember the game so clearly. However, unlike most people on the internet, I'm not going to hold onto one thing for all of eternity and sit it on a golden throne and never let anything else touch it because its the only thing that will ever matter.
I just dont see all that many premades intentionally exploiting for stats in Custom Games. So when one does it so obviously I tend to remember so that I dont have to deal with it again if I dont want to.
