Uproot Redesign

Just one of the problems plaquing Queen of Thorns is that Uproot is relatively useless. This is my idea for a redesign of the skill.

Rank 1 (available at level 1) :

500 Mana

15 yd. range

1 sec cast

15 sec. cooldown

Description:

Uproot is a targetted AoE, with an area of effect a bit smaller than TB's Circle of Fire. Lasts 3 seconds (at rank 1), and deals 150 damage per second to all structures (450 damage total) within its radius. Additionally, all units and enemy demigods within Uproot's area of effect are "rooted" for the ability's duration. While rooted you cannot move, but may attack and use abilites and items. 100 damage will break the effect on demigods only. This is so enemy demigods won't be instantly freed due to a stray attack from a grunt, but one auto-attack from a demigod should break the effect.

Rank 2 (available at level 4):

675 Mana

Lasts 4 seconds

200 damage per second to structures (800 damage total)

150 damage to break rooted effect on DGs.

(range, cast time, and cooldown not changed by rank-ups)

Rank 3 (available at level 7):

850 Mana

Lasts 5 seconds

250 damage per second to structures (1250 damage total)

200 damage to break rooted effect on DGs.

Rank 4 (available at level 10):

1025 Mana

Lasts 6 seconds

300 damage per second to structures (1800 damage total)

250 damage to break rooted effect on DGs.

Rank 5, Violent Siege (available at level 15):

Enemy units and demigods affected by Uproot take an additional 500 damage for each enemy structure that is also within Uproot's radius. This damage will not break the "rooted" effect on demigods. Cannot deal more than 1000 damage in this manner.

In addition to making the skill more useful, I think this would reinforce QoT's intended role as a support/siege specialist.

Well, have at it.

Edit: To clarify the rooted effect: It is a debuff, and can therefore be removed by a rank 3 Heal from Sedna, a rank 3 Shield from Oak, or by using the Symbol of Purity favor item. Erebus can escape the roots by using Bat Swarm. Similarly, any demigod can escape using the Warpstone trinket, and generals may escape via the Cloak of Night favor item. Also, the self-damage from Unclean Beast's Ooze counts towards the damage needed to escape from the rooted effect.

Edit 2: Added a restriction to Violent Siege: cannot deal more than 1000 damage to demigods and units. Otherwise the skill would have the potential to do stupidly huge damage against demigods hiding in a Rook tower farm.

I think this might be the best uproot redesign I've seen so far. It would add some nice new tactics for QoT.

I really, really like this!

End of quote

this would be the most overpowered thing ever.

Thanks for the comments.

@Schobbo: I hope you read the sentence immediately after that. Since it only takes a very small amount of damage to break, I can't see the immobilization effect being overpowered.

Also, I added some counters to the effect in the OP.

i like it.

but thats probably a problem, "redesign". its whole function will need to be something completely new to implement. So im guessing we will not see this any time in the near future. BUT, i could be wrong.

i think uve checked my suggestion on uproot, and wat i suggested is practically the same (how you target, visual animation etc) only with an added stat which has alrdy been implemented into the game (Violent siege).

after thinking about it some more i think this is a much needed change to the skill with only a few minor changes.

hopefully this is seen and taken into consideration when it comes to changes in balancing.
