NEW items - NEW and more complex strategy avenues!

Okay I posted this in another thread but I think I should have created my own :-)

These are my humble ideas for some new creations that will be fun (at least in my humble opinion)

Like em or not, say what you think please that's what discussion is!

How about an item you can buy that allows you to take control of a wave of units? So for exaple, you buy this item... let's call it "minion mind totem". When you use it (make it a consumable, or a re-usable with recharge time) all  allied minions surrounding your DG in a certain radius come under your control, like the general's minions. The obvious use of this would be to herd your own bunch of minions, wait for another wave and then folllow for a double hit. Plus you could stop them taking the AI path and make better use of them.

Also I'd like to see another item that works in a similar way... Let's call it the "Horn of Traitors". Similar cast to the above idea, but any Enemy minions within your radius will switch to allied. Then you could cast your Minion mind totem, and take control of them. So imagine trying to capture that portal flag, you make the enemy minon wave turncoat. then it captures. then bam, another allied minion wave rolls out.

Another item I think would be great would be a skill or citadel upgrade (pehaps at level 20 if a skill or war rank 10 for citadel)  that's available to all DG's.
This upgrade will allow a demigod (or all on a team if a citadel upgrade) to carry 1 extra inventory item and 1 extra consumable item.

Now for another idea! New flag types. How about a movement speed flag (+5%) or an item portal flag! This item portal flag will only be activated by standing at it for a time (maybe 15 secs) and then a random item will teleport in for you to pick up. Once you pick it up, the portal beccomes inactive to you for 45 secs before you can activate it again. At any time between this anyone else can stand there and wait for an item. If you walk off the radius it is reset to neutral. If an enemy dg comes within the radius it stops activating to prevent an item appearing. So what items are we talking about.... generally consumables like mana pots or tp scrolls or universal gadgets. Maybe a 1% chance of a 1000 gold hit or something.

Just my ideas for now....

Not sure how I feel on this.

This would be a ridiculolus OP/exploitable.  Seems slightly game breaking.

This would require a lot of ui work by gpg, and frogboy said he is trying to avoid ui work as much as possible, because gpg is working on their other game and doesn't have anyone to spare for this.

Item portal sounds ridiculously OP.

Pretty much all of these ideas are easily exploitable.

This say you have a wave of creep coming up behind you and are in the middle of fighting a demigod.  This creep wave has giants and cats in it.  You drop this totem, take control of them, select all, focus attack the demigod.  Part of what makes the fact that creep waves just splash into combat is because they attack whatever is nearest to them.  Be it a tower or creep or demigod.  Being able to control and focus this would be adding @ war rank 10 basically 500 dps to your demigod's.

This is obviously broken for the fact that now with not only control your creep you can control the enemies creep wave as well.  So @ war rank 10 you can now effectively add up to 1000 dps to your demigod's.

Another item I think would be great would be a skill or citadel upgrade (pehaps at level 20 if a skill or war rank 10 for citadel) that's available to all DG's.

I like this idea a bit though it needs refining.  However in the long run I don't know if this would be something cost effective to do.  Seems like a lot of coding rewrite.

Now for another idea! New flag types. How about a movement speed flag (+5%) or an item portal flag! Even though this flag wouldn't be dropping anything but potions a Tower Rook could farm this too easy.  No one is going to come near that flag with 6-8 towers on top of it.  While the Rook just sits there getting an item every minute.  Walk over to the artifact shop, sell item.  Walk back over to the flag, nice and safe with all those towers on it.  Wait a little bit, get another item, walk off, sell it.  Continue this until you can buy basically whatever you want.  And if this flag is in a creep lane... that they're getting gold from creep as well.  Also... if you have ever walked into a Tower Rook farm you've probably already figured out you're going to die so this Rook is probably getting kills from kids wanting this flag.  Just not going to be balanced.

All in all some neat ideas.  Though I don't think any of them will work as is.  Too easily abused.

Good responses I think. Okay, as for the Item portal, thats prolly a dumb idea.

For the creep control, the counter would be to have the "horn of traitors" item.... If enemy DG tries to mob you with creeps you use your horn of traitor and they turn allied. Or you could have your own creeps to help you out.

As for possible DGs using a mob of creeps to help them, a good player pretty much already does. I often follow a creep wave and attack a DG with them. When the enemy creep wave hits, use an area of attack skill to wipe them, and then the creeps will attack the enemy DG (or tower if thats where I am).

The difference would be in sending them in a different path to the automatic ant trail they always follow, and yes to attack a specific target. Perhaps to water down this idea, make the item let you control the minions for a limited period of time, and then they switch back to AI.

Also I would like to see a DG that is a robot (metal with lazers and shit). Okay a DG is a offspring of a god and a human, but who cares.... perhaps Robocop gets busy with Venus.(I think she is a god?)

OMG I know you!

Also I have one more really good idea.....

Please fix the game so I feel like I got what I paid for.

I usually rate a game's worth by how many hours I play it, with exceptions given to exceptionally good games.  Seeing as I feel this game was worth the payment based on how long I've played, and that you played more matches than I have, by my standards you've gotten what you paid for.

I think it's an interesting concept, but would have to agree with others that it can be an extremely powerful ability, and probably too powerful.  What I think would make this ability balanced is if while controlling the creep wave, you lose control of your demigod for whatever the duration of the mind control (say 10 or 15 seconds).  Not many demigods could withstand a full on attack of a (war rank 10) creep wave on top of a demigod's focus fire; hence why many are hesitant to approve this ability.

I would also like to see the option to get an additional bag slot, but understand that 5 slots is part of the strategy and, as someone already mentioned, UI changes are difficult to implement due to SD/GPG resources.

I 'strongly' support the addition of new flags, and feel that there are many great flag ideas still to be implemented (attack speed increase, mana drain, health drain, dodge, etc.).

While the item portal flag is unique, I would have to say I am against it because I think being forced to use the item and artifact shops are a strategy in and of itself.  Not too mention random items flooding in will affect the rate of gold (from selling), and would likely be dropped items due to players already having full bags.  Maybe a different approach would be to have a small random (say 10%) chance of a consumable item drop (beyond the health/mana) upon demigod death.

What about a force drop item ability/item.... Whe you're about to murder that over-armoured DG you've been nailing all game, you hit him with a force drop ability.... Then bam, one item is randomly dropped from his inventory to make his life misery.... let's say he drops his All father's ring, dies and then you rob his carcass and take it for yourself (as you would in real life when you smoke a demigod!)....

Yes, I've played a few times.... But I'd say that so far AT LEAST 50% of my time... more like 60%... has been spent waiting for a game, or starting a game then someone drops or crashes.... Actually about 1/3 of my games played actually were not played but crashed to a quick finish...

So games played or hours ingame certainly do not reflect game satisfaction for me. If it was a shit game I would never have given it this amount of time!   It is a great game, but frustratingly has too many problems.

As I stand now, I'm not playing anymore unless my idiot brother (who told me to get it) tells me the problems get fixed 100%.... Oh, but wait... he gave up playing 2 weeks ago, so I doubt he'll play either.

Isn't there enough pavlov's dog's tricks in this game to keep you interested that you need a gate to pop little candies out for your solthful ass to consume?

lukas ... whos lukas?!?!?

I am.

And to force drop an item, make it cost a bit! Perhaps a cost of 2000g and to use it - it consumes a bucketload of mana to use and is single use only. Also, they will drop a random item, so who knows, you might only score a tele scroll.

gkrit.... I am Lukas!

I don't think this should be added into the "real" demigod, would cause too many exploits and unbalance the game.

However this might be an idea for a mod, a more "minon-oriented" mod.
