When are we fixing AI when someone quits?

How hard is it to change the AI to AI nightmare mode (like single player)?  When someone rage quits or crashes, team almost always looses.  AI becomes a feeder.  This one thing is ruining the game for me.  Almost every game I played today, someone on either team quits or crashes, then game over.

There are some new features coming out in 1.2 that should help with this problem quite a bit (1.2 is expected sometime in Aug/early Sept though some fixes may be out earlier).  Here's a link to all the changes in 1.2 http://forums.demigodthegame.com/360013.

Here are some specific details that apply:

  • More AI improvements (if anyone in the community wants to make LUA suggestions I’ll forward them on)
  • New AI options  (on death)
    • 1. Gold/ XP: High (= to what it is today)
    • 2. Gold/ XP: Normal (= 50% what killing a human player would be worth) [default]
    • 3. Gold/ XP: Low (=25% of what killing a human player would be worth)
  • New AI option:
    • 1. Hitpoints: Very High (2X what they are today)
    • 2. Hitpoints: High (1.5 what they are today) [Default]
    • 3. Hitpoints: Normal (1.0 what they are today)
    • 4. Hitpoints: Low (0.75 what they are today)

    • Some of those changes should make a HUGE difference even if the AI is dumb as a rock (specifically 2X HP and Gold/XP Low.)

    Nightmare AI is only good because it's cheating, and it would be unfair to give a nightmare ai to any team.

    It's equally unfair to give a poor AI to any team. I say between the two, what was implemented is best - leaving the AI replacement level as a configurable option before the game starts.

    But cheating or not, Nightmare AI is still food against a human player. The soon to be implemented changes mentioned above should go a long way in addressing the issue.

    Allowing peeps to join games mid game...that is the real solution.

    If you say it's impossible you have either little imagination or little knowledge of IT :)

    IT's possible for sure.

     

    But with demigods p2p and unstable connection stuff it would be a hassle to implement.

    No one would talk about beeing impossibility to join a running battleground in WoW :)

    Even if this game has much more Players per match.
