Greetings,
A bit of background story: Since the game's release, I have been playing it in the offline-mode during my lunch breaks at work. In the past month I have started to play online (which is much more satisfying) - also at work. Well, I've really started to like the online play so much that I want to play at home... but I'm having a strange connection issue when on my home PC.
I am using a 16mb/s connection from Comcast with a Belkin Pre-N Wireless router. I am currently accessing the router via wireless (wired isn't an option) for the location of my home PC. Generally speaking, I stream HD media w/ my connection with ease, so it's a good connection.
So here's the thing. I am able to get into a Demigod lobby. My connection is green, and my ping in the 100's for US Demigod matches. But as soon as the game starts? It begins to chug... meaning, EVERYONE in the game has severe lag issues, like nothing I've ever seen. All players will move for 2 steps, and then lag for 10 seconds, then move 2 more steps, then lag for 10 seconds - and so on.
I know that this issue has to be my connection. It happened to me 4 times, and everyone in the match (needless to say) was pissed... erm, sorry about that, fellas.
Now, I have made sure that ports 6000-6200 are open on my router. I am running Vista, so I have disabled UAC and the Windows Firewall. I have followed the FAQs support about connecting to Demigod to a T.
I am a pretty technical guy too - I normally don't have any connection or computer issues, nor would I ever normally post on an open forum asking for ideas... but I am fkin stumped. Does anybody have any ideas as to what my problem could be?
