Pantheon Mixup issues!?

Just now I was in a pantheon game and it was a regular 3v3, or so it seemed, lo and behold when I walk upon the battlefield, I see a rook and now I and my team are all WTF, cause we're the forces of light, and they're the forces of dark

 

Team List:

 

Dark: 2 minion erebus, and a tower/slam rook

 

Light: Solo Pounce/heal Sedna (me), rook (slam), and a regulus (weird mix of mines/snipe/angel's fury)

 

Is this regular? and is this supposed to happen?

 

I have screenshots (if the screenshot key was F5 or Printscreen, then I do, but I'm not sure where in my demigod folder are the screenshots

Lol it happens. Usually when people choose a light/dark side, but dont pick a demigod to play with, instead just clicking fight.

I find it makes the game more interesting, some light/dark side combinations work very well together.

So it's possible? How would I do this? I don't see an option to NOT select a demigod in the menu select, it just looks like it defaults to one choice for me
