Demigod demo: No single player? Multiplayer problems: Unable to join and host games.

Hello.

Does this demo have single player since I am having problems with the multiplayer (after signing up and validating my new Impulse account)?

When I host a game, I get an "HostGame in CVP failed." error. Joining a game shows "The parameters you have entered are invalid. Please check your data and try again."

I also tried disabling my firewall, but that did not help. I am using Windows XP Pro. SP3 (IE6) with all updates.

Also, does this forum not have e-mail notification on new replies? :(

Thank you in advance. :)

Wow, this is horrible. It seems like it is related to http://forums.demigodthegame.com/345345 ...

Game company should had tested more and know about this issue. :( I am uninstalling my demo and not getting the full game. Oh well! :(

So, is there a fix or not.  I don't think "not buying it" is a good option.

I get the same error and am not able to host games at all. "Host Game in CVP failed" each time.

I've had the demo for bout one week and everything seemed fine till now.:hugme: Funny i thought i had solved all my demigod problems when i uninstaled my logitech quickcam device b/c game wouldn't run with that installed.

Sometimes i get an even funnier messages when i try to host/join, it says "Success" and i press ok an it ejects me.
I am still able to join games rarely, but when i do im always fine and have a low ping. I also noticed that diff players see different ping for each other, whats up with that?

Anywyas i really like this game or i wouldnt be replying. i still plan to buy the game..hope stuff gets resolved.

Same problem (hostgame in cvp failed).  Saw the game at quakecon and played a little.  Got me interested and downloaded the demo at home today.  Can't for the life of me get it to work (since there's no single player portion at all).  Would love to learn the game but can't so guess this game is on the backburner for quite some time (since there's quite a few quality games about to be released).  Good luck GPG.

I tried reinstalling, proxy servers, running on Vista, adding firewall exception, closing firewall, closeing anti-virus, and still no go,

Been almost a whole day and not even a "We're trying", fail GM, fail

the original release had connection issues, they are largely resolved. hopefully they quickly fix the demo issues, as that's the first contact for lots of people. the game is fun, for what it's worth....

Something's wrong with Stardock's demo servers currently. I doubt there is anything you could do on your end to fix it. Seeing as how today is a Sunday, I'm sure it'll be fixed tomorrow.

So it's just the demo that is giving the problem?  Does the full version have single player against AI?

The demo servers have been kicked as of this morning, so this should be resolved. Let us know if it crops up again.

Yes - skirmish (1 off game) or tournament (play a DG through 8 differnent games using various maps/game types) - the DG with the heighest favour at the end wins the tournament...
