Babylon 5 mod effort for Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion

This is the story of the last of the Babylon 5 mod-efforts. It's goal, to prevent another failure, by creating a place to solve our problems collaboratively. Its a port of call, home away from home, for modelers, texturers, programmers and sound engineers.

Sins Of The Younger Races Remastered

NEW - Balvarin Carrier and Minor Factions fix!

 

 

Installation Guide:

  1. Download the latest Sins Remastered mod from here:
    https://www.moddb.com/mods/sinsre
  2. Extract the archive into a 'SinsRemastered' folder in your 'C:\Users\%username%\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.85' folder.
  3. Download the latest Babylon 5 Sins of the Younger Races mod from here:
    https://www.moddb.com/mods/sins-of-the-younger-races
  4. Extract the archive into your root 'Mods-Rebellion v1.85' folder instead of a new mod folder as the archive ALREADY contains a premade 'SotyrRemastered' folder inside of it (so if you're not careful you'll end up with a mod folder inside of a mod folder and it won't work lol).
  5. Start Sins and go to 'Options', then 'Mods', and you should see the mods you've installed.
  6. Enable 'SotyrRemastered' and then enable 'SinsRemastered' too. Make sure that the load order is SotyrRemastered first/top and then SinsRemastered second/bottom.
  7. Restart Sins and you should be good to go!

Sometimes the in-game mod loader can be a bit funky so if you can't see the mods you've installed or something isn't working then enabling the mods via the 'EnabledMods.txt' file in your 'Mods-Rebellion v1.85' folder where you installed the mods to is the other alternative. It should look like this to work:

Hi! Sorry for my long disappear. About ships - forgive me, but i not finish "Warlock". I'm not promise, but after my nearly finished "lupo" (non-canonical ships for B-5, as "improved Artemis"}:) ) try finish this ship. And in past i lost my "3d inspiration" and perhaps find now.

OFFTOP. Last two week i saw anime "Legend of galactic heroes" and was very impressive space battle "thousand vs. thousand" ships.

In future i make ships in more small scale and probably have more ship on battlefield then earlier [for me,

as experience). Because in game all battlefield diameter around planet (   <- planet -> ) have only 72 kilometers, and Koll have ~ 0.7 km. Image: group advanced frigate "Lupo" use main beam cannon against enemy (one frigateO:) )

Zvezdochetz Please don't make the ships to smal.I've seen that in the Star Trek and Star Wars mods,and I don't like it (and I will be not the only one).In that mods you must scroll in till end before you can see any ships.The scale they now have is realy ok,belive me,please go on with that! :thumbsdown:

For our mod i make model in normal scale - and maybe you right: now i make small ship for me, but weapon effect made for big ship and not too nice on small ship as i hope.

P.S: in february "Diplomacy'' addon will be on sale in russia and i buy he.

I uploaded it to filefront.  I've tested the map to make sure it works, and it does, but I have not played a game on it.  It's probably not very balanced.  It's a 1 vs 1 map, but its rather large.  I used as much fact as I could from the Babylon 5 universe, but I had to use some creative license and change a few things an also had to fill in the gaps where there was no info.  So I'm callling this a beta release for this map.  It needs to be tested a few times.

@Zvezdochets - nice to see you still active. You have contributed so much to this mod it is wonderful to see you still around (even if you just do your own thing)

The next release will be for 1.05 or Diplomacy final (dependent on how big the changes to the entity files are)

About abilities: may add on ships special kamikaze-ships, deployed with capships and after approoaching he destrouy enemy ships and self [but he cost more then mines, and enemy may destroy their before collision].

But this only offer. On days try anything else.

Sorry, did not understand fully. Is this an ability that spawns new ships which are kamikaze? And what ar they supposed to do exactly? ^_^'

What I'd love to see is a ram ability ... that causes damage to the target and ship that rams ... but doesn't destory the ramming ship .. if it has enough HP ... is that possible?

Not sure about it but i think that the BSG mod have a ram ability for the Gallactica... or maybe it is some ship from the Evil Tesla pirate mod...

Thanks for your advice ... Evil Tesla could weave his magic ... but only an idea .. again as always the final decision is with Tobi should he want this ability included:)

Well, a good ram ability would be wonderful. The Question is, why should anyone big ship not have this ability? (And which other ability to foresaken for this one?) Nevertheless, having this kind of ability on the Omega or Nova would be wonderful!

When i use this ability against pirates, and in Bailknight's grafic mod i see very impressive show:borg:

SteinerX, i think about your offer [new variant RAMability] but i dont't know how make this ... in my variant you sacrifice capship for capship enemy and many small escort ships, if our battle too hard and need destroy many enemy ships.

OK, Thanks for saving it in the dropbox SteinerX. I've had a look at it and adjusted it a little - it will now not always kill the users vessel, but damage it heavily (and will kill most ships - it costs 600 damage on the attacker and 5000 on the defender)

So Ships strong enough that may someday be given that ability (we'll see) might survive such an attack. And one single ram might not take down a fully healed sharlin, not to think of a shadow ship, but it will damage it seriously!

Only if change hull damage, damage radius, antimatter [or number enemy ship, destroyed after attack - i don't know how ship may destroy after this].

I try this ability on me [play in kamikaze] and she work.

Fileosoft has been cooking something very special ... can't give details but it goes beyond what we expected from Sins ... patience is required and he will reveal his efforts in due course:)

 

All I can say is that they said it couldn't be done ... but he did it ...
