Frame rate issues In opening cutscene and Main menu

Hi everyone.

I've been having issues with the main menu and opening cutscene recently, the frame rate seems to be capped at 15 fps in the cutscene then comes to a painful 7fps in the main menu. Whilst the second I get in game, I sit at a solid 90fps

System specs:

gtx290

intel i7920

gigabyte ex58-ud3r motherboard

windows xp SP3

Does anyone have ANY idea at all what could possibly be causing this?

Are your drivers all up to date? If so, try disabling sound (add a /nosound switch to the target line in the shortcut) or turning off anti-aliasing in the video options to see if either helps narrow the issue down.
