Demigod/Website Logon Maintainence

Courtesy comes both ways.

Dear Stardock/GPG,

if you know beforehand that you're migrating some servers to a new data center, it would be very kind to let the Demigod users also know beforehand that there will be connectivity problems instead of letting them waste their time and guess/flame around on the IRC or forums. TYVM.

But that would mean they would actually have to let us know what is going on. And whats more frustrating over the past 2-3 days that people were getting these errors and asking about them on the forums frogboy and others were saying "We Dont know whats on?" "Were looking into the problem now." "Servers seem to be stable"

and thats just few of the answer's that were posted in response to the many questions that were asked to connective problems etc etc.

So in otherwords maybe gpg/sd just dont care?

Or maybe they didn't know what caused the problem and in order to track it down or fix it they had to do "maintance" on the servers.  Sine they knew that they thought they might want to inform us because they care about us and the game.

On a related note, Dwarf, shove off!  I have seen you post into 4 or 5 topics your excessive hate for stardock.  People like you are the reason I stopped coming to these forums.  If yolu hate the game, stop coming to the forums and playing the game.  If you love the game, like I think you very wel might, please be reasonable and stop posting hate with your free time.  We are all frustrated but your activity definately doesn't help.

Late last week a distributed denial of service attack was launched against the Ash servers (which handles the logons) along with several Impulse servers.  It took a couple of days to realize what was causing the increasing slow down. Over the weekend, we came in and changed the maintainence by migrating servers to a data center that has anti-DOS capabilities in place.  The DOS attack continues even now but is no l longer affecting the game.

As for Dwarf, he has been warned previously. He is done here.
