Random Ideas. Feel free to add/alter/morph any idea I submit. We all want this to be a better game.

DISCLAIMER: Some, none, or all of these ideas may already have been sbumitted. I just don't feel like reading all the posts to see what everyone else has already suggested. :) I do hope that some of my ideas are unique though so please don't flame me if I repeat an idea someone has already suggested.

I've numbered them so if you don't feel like quoting you may just elaborate on each number.

-TOWERS/BUILDINGS-

1. wall spikes(ala WC3) - melee attackers take damage for each blow dealt to spiked buildins

2. On the different tower types I'm not sure to suggest whether or not the types would replace or add to the existing beam weapon.

3. flame/fire tower or addon - shoot aoe fireballs? or possibly a periodic fireball at ONLY DG's that does DoT

4. ice/frost tower or addon - slows attack speed and movement speed for a period of time

5. burning oil - periodic aoe attack that can only damage melee enemies

6. mana tower - (ala wc3) fires a bolt/beam/projectile that damages enemy DG's(possible upgrade to make this an aoe attack but still only affecting enemy DG)

7. I did see this one in another thread. The ability/option to buy and place at predesignated spots or rebuild towers.

8. mana/power shields - a very weak shield that has to be destroyed before harming the building. I'm thinking the fortitude could be modified to include shield recharge rate

-OTHER IDEAS-

9. Random favor item option. Could be random all favor, random assassin/general favor item. (would add another level of difficulty, especially with elite teams playing eachother. Yes it's possible to get seriously imba picks, but hey, that's where the challenge is).

10. Random team option. Get full lobby, select random teams and the teams are created during map 'boot up'.

11. multiple team games - 2v2v2,3v3v3, or possibly FFA. Yes I realize that premade teams could easily conspire ahead of time to wipe one team out but that's part of the risk/fun. You run the risk of playing a premade team period whenever you enter a lobby, peeps rarely post they are premade so deal with it. Another thing to keep in mind is that AOE attacks would always damage ALL opposing forces. So even if they team up there will be times when they will be inadvertently damaging their 'allies'. Moments such as that could easily be taken advantage of.

12. equipment upgrades for creeps - give weapons to creeps to give them variety of effects

13. some type of larger melee weapon for first tier soldiers that makes their melee attacks do a very small aoe in front of them

14. fire, flame, poison arrows for the archers

15. better staves for the priests enhancing their healing capabilites(rate of heals or strength of heals or both?)

16. a divebomb type of attack for angels that damages ground enemies in small radius, periodic attack

17. enhance the cats area of effect or possibly give each cat attack a short DoT effect with each shot

18. shit what can I say here? giants are pretty badass already. how about arming them with a giant tower shield, sifnificantly increasing their defense? or enchance their giant swords with a shockwave effect that ripples outward

19. last but not least: knockback effects - is this even possible in this game? certain attacks can knock back enemy creeps or DGs by a short amount of yards. certain items could give percentage knockback effects

 

 

Ummm, that's all the patience I have for now. Maybe post some more later. Let me know what you think.

most of these ideas add little strategic or balance value to the game,

 

Wall spikes (point 1) read the citadel upgrades, one line of upgrades already does this.

 

The Lightening is already AoE, no need to add a fire varient when armor/resistance is not type based.

An ice tower would add a strategic benefit, but as towers are built by the map at the start, a map maker would just need to script this.

 

Burning oil, from where exactly? there is no fortress wall/cutless etc that needs to be assaulted.

 

Point8, mana shield for towers? whats the value in this, the heal tree in the citadel upgrades handles regenerating of towers.

 

Point 9, far too random, although an option where all favour items are available at no cost would be a possible balancing mod/tweek

 

Point 10, has been asked for lots of time, and should be implemented imho

11) The game is built for team 1 v team 2, support for a third team would take considerable effort and i doubt could even be done purely through lua modding.

12) I'm getting tired of saying this, have you read the citadel upgrade tree? blacksmith and armourer tree's do exactly this

13) Why exactly? what value does a small aoe give except compounding the damage dealt by front line peons against each other, so they get wiped out much faster.
