Stats / Ranking

OMG I now get more than 1-3 exp points for a win.

Call the cops! Ranking might be working correctly again!

(Individual demigod ranking is still a bit weird, I have the same experience points for each demigod even though I have only played as rook since the reset ^^)

How much xp do you get for a win? How much XP do you lose for a loss?

Do you get more xp for beating stronger players? Do you lose less xp when losing to stronger players? Do you lose more xp when losing to weaker players?

That's the most important stuff.

If some guy plays 18 games a day as a premade against pugs and gets a high ranking off of it, then the ladder is still broken.

If some guy plays 20 games a day. wins 10 and losses ten, yet still climbs, the ladder isn't working.

if some guy plays 4 games a day, against the top 20 DG players consistently, and wins more times than he loses. that man should be around the top of the ladder.

Otherwise ladder reflects free time - and doesn't reflect skill. Which would render the ladder useless because you could just check players game timer instead of win / loss record and it would show you the same information.

I totally agree with playgroundlegend because until now ladder rank was only a matter of how much time u play and not actual skill.

Maybe it is fixed now, or not?

i believe the idea is to use [ELO] or something aproximate.

in short, you're points are affected by the difference in rank between opponents.

beat some one 20 ranks higher won't get as much point as beating someone 200 ranks higher.

also you'll loose less point if you're beaten by someone of significantly greater skill.

Played 5 games last night.  Won 4 lost 1, had a net gain of +36 points.  Definitely seems to be a much healthier ladder.

It's too early to tell. If you get 10 points for beating someone higher rank than you but you still get 2 points for beating a team 1,000 ranks lower then yes, it'll still largely be a measure of time spent.

If there's no cutoff point where you get zero exp some of the old problems will remain.

I will never us the ladder ranking as a base to judge a persons skill. It has been broken since the begining and the stats will always be junk unless theres a total reset and a new system implimented.

I just remember players names, if you beat me you earn my respect.

EDIT: They really must have done a huge change because I went from being 33k+ ranked to being ranked 77... maybe the ladder actually does mean something now.....

most definitely not, i have a 233-55 win/loss record and dropped to ladder rank 35,000 essentially, from ~400.

the hell is that?

Your previous wins and losses make your win rate look pretty, but experience was not retabulated for all previous wins, it was reset to 1k for everyone.

You played four times yesterday and lost twice, those four games are now the only ones for which you have received and lost exp. Those two losses outweighed the wins, droppign you below 1k exp. With everyone back to 1k, falling beneath 1k results in a very poor ranking.

If you play a fair amount today you'll probably be top 100 again by midnight.

1) Do we know anything about the weights yet?  How many points you stand to gain/lose depending on that persons ranking?  Also, how is a 4v4 or 3v3 calculated?  If 2 opponents are ahead of me on the ladder and 1 or 2 are way below..  how does that get figured out?  I'll read through the wiki link to get a better idea.  Just wondering if people had better DG insight.

2) Aren't there plans to add more info to the lobby?  I thought I remembered a recent journal entry re: that.  Being able to see a players rank, how many games they have played with each of the current team, etc.  Was that a 1.2 thing?

Well if 2 losses does that to ya ill be back to 30k + again soon enough..... Looks like the system is still good for shit because if you loose 100 games but have 300 wins you will still be 30K + from the losses.
