I've seen about 10-12 replays now and atleast 50-70% of the time either one or both teams fail to get Currency I when it is available. This is FAIL. CurrencyI gives you +2 gold / s for every player. You always want this ASAP.
On a Cataract match, it pays for itself in 5 minutes!!
Each tick is actually two seconds. It gives +2 gold/sec. Yeah, it should always be bought as soon as war rank 3 hits. Sack your gear if you have to.
Yeah, changed that. Still worth it though. I usally sell little stuff for it but not > 1500 items.
Haven't played for quite a long time but if I recall correctly a tick is 0.90 seconds not 2 seconds. which means currency gives 4.4 gold / per second per player.
Currency is the only reason that makes me come back to citadel when I don't need health or mana.
Since we are on the subject, is it worth to buy Currency II??? Since it´s more expensive and gives you less gold???
Currency II is useful in 4vs4 or 5vs5 and in some circumstances in 3vs3. But the time til it pays off is quite long. However as there are some Demigods which don't need much money midgame it can be a option.
If i get fed a couple extra kills I will get currency 2 or 3 to help the team don't care about cost cause I used Gold from kills on it.
If I get fed a couple kills I stack serious items early and get more kills 
hehe but yeah, your idea works as well.
Finally some-one else noticed. Ive played soooo many games where the other team hasnt bought currency.
I always thought ironically enough it was better on smaller maps. Mainly because when its 2v2 if your opponent can afford to buy a better item before you can you feel the effects quite quickly
But getting currency is usaully a custom part of my game plan
Depending on who I'm playing, I buy Currency the moment we hit War Rank 3, and almost always buy Priests as well - unless we're dominating, then I buy additional gear for myself.
I often barely have enough for currency by rank 3. That said thats probably because unless I get a kill all the flags captured usually push up the war rank too quickly >>
