Was I the only one to notice?

I'm just curious to know if I was the only one who thought that Demigod has a lot in common with the Warcraft III AoS (Age of Siege) mod type. The most famous of these is DotA (Defense of the Ancients), if you need a base to go off of. I was simply curious if anyone had a comment or view on the subject. I'm aware it's not a dead copy, but the basis for the game is the same. Please, no flaming.

The reason this game was created and this was even stated during the Beta was to have it based off of Defense of the Ancients. That was the whole inspiration behind it was to create a more modern version.

I'm glad they give kudos to DotA as inspiration. Not a big fan of the original, myself, but it seemed like it was too close for them not to give some credit. Too bad they gave credit to DotA, rather than the AoS mod type it was based on. Although, I don't think many other people who played the original don't play WoW, so I'm probably the only one to notice. Thank you for the clarification on the subject, it helps the game make much more sense.

I'm quite surprised you've missed all the Demigod vs Dota vs HoN vs LoL threads. The comparisons have already been discussed to death, so no one sees it necessary to make any new threads about the similarities/differences anymore.
