pacov, I personally enjoyed LoL a lot more than HoN. The game pace just feels better than HoNs and I always hated the deny mechanic, which is totally counterintuitive, denying should occur by forcing your enemy to not attack the creeps not by killing your own.

For me it goes:

1. Demigod
2. LoL
3. HoN

LoL gameplay is so much better than DotA/HoN :)

Worst by far about HoN is the poor camera distance, which causes an absolutely horrible claustrophobic feeling and totally annoying back and forth fighting for every sqaremillimeter fov.

And the funny thing is that a zoom out function was included but they purposely limited it so ganking was more possible,

I'm not going to go into people's likes/dislikes between HoN/LoL/DG but LoL just screwed itself anyway.

Riot just repealed that decision today. US and Euro players will be able to play together.

I'm starting to play more HoN now, Demigod its way better IMO (gameplay, mechanics, graphics, etc...). This last hit and deny thing in HoN is boring and the zoom (OFMG) is terrible. The HoN comunity is the worst I've ever seen, you are flamed with no mercy for just about everything, you just can´t make friends there.

But I'm playing more HoN then DG because:

  1. Player base - DG has always 2-5 games (50% beeing locked) in the lobby, HoN has 200-300 (All 5v5). You basically choose a game and start to play, no wait whatsoever. In DG you have to strugle for 15min to get a 3v3.
  2. Connectivity - I'de say +50% of my demigod games end up with someone disconecting and ruining the game or with invalidgamestate. In HoN this just NEVER happens, you start the game, you finish it. 100% of completed games unless you rage quit.
  3. Connectivity - Yes again... the ping in HoN does not seems to be a big problem, I join a game with other 9 players all around ~300 ping and I just can´t notice any lag, amazing. In DG I don´t even play 4v4 anymore because with my 250ish ping to american players its just unplayable.

BTW, if anyone has a spare invite to LoL, I'de like to try this game.

Thanks in advance :)

I just skimmed the last page of this thread, so apologies if this has been covered... but why would anyone choose LoL over HoN if you were bailing on Demigod?  I'm not a huge fan of either L or H, but I think its clear that HoN is better than LoL.
End of pacov's quote

I prefer LoL because the pace of play is somewhere between DG (slow) and HoN (fast).  In  DG, you can often see how things are likely to unfold before they do, whereas in HoN there are too many "wtf just happened?!" moments.  LoL is a happy medium for me.  HoN sets the new (very high) standard for matchmaking though.

Ugh... That's a shame, surely they could have just worked with fog of war.

I also use my keyboard to scroll my camera on DG, so it's infuriating to me to have to drag my mouse away from what I want to click on to see correctly on HoN. :(

Basically for me DG blows HoN/LoL out of the water after a functioning game has been started, and HoN takes the crown when it comes to the absolutely amazing interface leading up to that point.

Yup. Demigod gameplay really feels a lot more solid than both HoN and LoL. However, when it comes to online features and connectivity Demigod looks like a piece of :D

If you're waiting for SC2 I take it you're just generally interested in RTS and not specifically MOBA? Red Alert 3 KW and Dawn of War 2 both have decent player counts at the moment from what I gather, but I think a huge number are going to be swapping over to SC2 when it comes out :)

@Ryan...you're not that good mate. Get over yourself.

i dont mind RTS but i like alot of genres, im looking forward to sc for the 1v1 its gonna be a time filler for when i cant get a game in DG or maybe HoN if i like it ill get the beta key at 200 000 and see, LoL sounds ok by the look of things but whats with the graphics its so Play Station 1 that really hurts mate.

Red alert 3 doesnt really interest me and neither does WH i got the demo for both just not my type of RTS, i like completely out of this world RTS either olden day (aoe) or future (sc).

I'm more than likely in that number as well.  I'll be playing SC2 competitively once it goes live, but still playing DG from time to time.

SC2 will be out in a long time :D

i suppose the reason for that is Blizzard always perfect thier games b4 they sell them...reason for success i guess, why change a formula that works.

You're joking right? WoW is a permanent beta test and Starcraft took years of tweaking to get it where it is now. Same story with Diablo 2.

i had star craft from day 1 and i gotta say compare to most other RTS that was well balanced from the start and of course a game that is still played by shit loads of people 11 years after its release...of course theres gonna be tweaks along the way... wow i cant comment as havnt played... D2 i had no problem with at all...and lets not nit pick here compare to other game titles blizzard is pritty ace.

Isn't this Blizzard's first major release since Activision's involvement? We already are seeing their money hungry influence expecting people to buy three times for one game. I'll have to wait and see if this will truly be another classic like the blizzard of old, or one of the new rape the customer base for all you can squeeze out of them attitudes some companies are adopting.

After playing some more LoL it is indeed quite enjoyable.

However DG will always be my favourite :)
