Final micro expansion?

In my Stardock advertisement email for today, it listed the option to pre-order Diplomacy, the "final micro-expansion" for Sins.

What happened to the planned 3rd micro expansion?  Has it been upgraded to a "major" expansion, an expansion pack, or shelved for a full sequel to SoaSE?

Any hint at all on what is going on?

Thanks!

like usual...........IC and SD only leave us breadcrumbs far and wide leaving us wondering what their planning.

All they told us is that Sins isn't over after the next micro expansion. Whether that means a full expansion or Sins 2 or what we don't know. :S

Ah, I'm glad someone noticed this as well. I'm sure it's not the end of Sins, but it took the wind out of my sails hoping for a campaigns/story expansion. We'll see, though. Pre-ordered the Diplomacy expansion and am getting back into Entrenchment after a couple months vacation from the game. TEC and Vasari, prepare to feel my wrath! :D

Two things, Thalatos:

1) Incorrect, thankfully.

2) You can enjoy Sins as long as you have a PC to play it on.

If the game was released in early 2008 and if each expansion takes a year to produce, that means that the third expansion would come in 2011.  At that point, it's just time to produce and release a Sins-2.

There was a game dev or moderator or someone with the I work here banner who said there are alot of things they want to do however its so much that it will roll into the next game........ I will try to find the link to show you what U am talking about however dont slander the game the support is very active and it makes them sad when you treat it like halo wars............Which I got banned from there site cause they gave up on it.......... it really isn't a money issue at all.  Up to this point, no character in the Sins universe has been animated yet.  That is something we are saving for future releases.  We are simply trying to keep the art style consistent for now.  I'm sorry you didn't like it, but I assure you that a lot of time and care goes into our trailers.

thats not my original memory but i am searching

Well, I'm eager for news, and eager for an update/sequel to Sins.  It's simply the most amazing and addictive RTS ever.  Looking forward to diplomacy, but hope to get a single player campaign with some substance and challenge.

If they do make a Sins-2, let's hope that they don't mess it up the way most sequels get botched up.  I don't know what they mean by "animated characters" but it doesn't sound like an encouraging idea to someone who spends 99% of his Sins gaming time (mostly) zoomed out to the tactical grid level where only small ship icons can be seen or zoomed further out to look at the entire map.

i think they meant that for the introduction videos, not the actual game.

the dev was talking to me cause i criticized the diplomacy trailer, they used paper cut out type of artwork when showing the three different ambassadors talking. Basically what was hinted there was they are no wheres near done with SINs and are up to something, and it seems big. They also dropped a hint in the TDN debate saying theyve withheld its meaning for a good reason......

they've also said (in the FAQs  ) that Sins lore is planned far into the past (10,000 years ago) but also FAR INTO THE FUTURE. makes me really excited to think that the devs might eventually reveal these future things to us
