Where r all the players gone?

dunno why, but last weekend i expected more games online. it was hard to find/fill a game.

did we lose again players because of not getting patch 1.2 on wednesday?

can some1 tell me the number of online players we now have? the real number

and can some1 tell me the number of sold games?

sometimes i feel like there r only 50 players worldwide who play demigod

Dude, when i posted that I was only on my second game.  I am playin against the AI, and it's not that bright, but it is aggressive on it's last two hardest settings.  I haven't played online yet, but hopefully when work settle downs a bit and I have more time on to play I'll give it a swing.

oh, heh, and I'm still trying to beat King's Bounty...

Could be the constant issues this game has. Had two people invalid game stat the last two games i played in because they were losing.

League of legends just came out and is free.  It isn't really as good a game as demigod, but it can eat up the time of someone who enjoys this type of game nonetheless.

Not to mention the constant amount of times per day the game either crashes or someone elses game crashes. This game crashes more times than a crash test dummy in a car.

If I would've known this game would crash this much or have as much issues as it has, I probably would've never bought it or told anyone else to buy it.

@wrastler118:

Have you submitted a ticket to [email protected]?  If your game is crashing as often as you say, there may be something else going on.

That doesn't explain why Demigod's competitors still have over 20,000 concurrent players online each.

Because they cater to the ADD Generation and are currently free?

I am knee deep myself in Dragon's Age at the moment, as I imagine a lot of people are. HoN and LoL are free, more or less. Of course they attract a wider audience. I believe that the issues have affected the number of people playing DG negatively. Yet, GPG and SD did not abandon DG as some believed. 1.2 is out and although people can (and will!) complain about the speed of things, at least the direction is clear (about the game improving, slowly but steadily).

Problem is lack of Demi-Gods and a horrid lobby , plain and simple.....i mean if your gonna try to forward a genre(dota) you need to have alot of character picks to choose from and a matchmaking system along with a rank viewable on how a player plays. Only reason i stopped playing , can only play Rook or Unclean Beast so many times before it gets stale.

But , there is always Heroes of Newerth great game and they know what people want , didnt l ike league of legends and the set up they went with.

If you don't like Demigod because it's not DotA or HoN, then go play DotA and HoN and leave Demigod to the people who like to play Demigod rather than complaining that Demigod isn't the games you like to play.

I'd love to play DemiGod more, if the game didn't crash so much or people bail because their game crashes so much.

I apologize, I wasn't intending to troll. I just think it's interesting how these 3 rival games have such large discrepancies in player bases. I'm not pointing it out because I'm here to advertise the other games, but I just feel that attributing DG's low playerbase "simply" to games like L4D2 and Dragon Age or to people having ADD is sticking our heads in the sand.

There are other reasons, and I find myself dwelling on it and wanting to discuss it just because it's not that simple.

Demigod is a slower paced, cerebral game compared to the other games of this type. It's niche. DotA and HoN are essentially the same thing, and they focus on the Actions Per Minute (APM) strategy that draws in the masses compared to Demigod where your Energy Drink and Red Cordial intake and ADD Medication persription dosage has little to no bearing on the outcome of the game.

   Rofl, Gotta love your style  k1

I couldn't agree with you more, i think of demigod as the real and only strategy game of the DotA subgenre, whereas HoN/LoL lack of real zoom out capabilities, unidimensional heros and fast pace make them just action games disguised as strategy games.

I can't really see why any strategy games lover would choose those over Demigod except price, and that's still not a great problem when u can now get demigod for less than 20 bucks.  o_O

You want to know what happened to all the players?  I'll tell you what happened to about 8 of them....  We left because the community completely disallows playing this game with your friends.  It's impossible to get a game going with your friends as your teammate, which defeats the purpose of playing a team based game IMO.  Humans are a social species and they prefer to do activities with others.  It's not a crime to play a game with your friends...

I know that premades stomping PUG's were a problem before, but their solution completely destroyed the game.  I think if they spent the time implementing some form of voice chat, it would have leveled the playing field with most premades.  Instead, they implement this overlay and now we are left wondering where everyone went....

lack of teamed automatches... this destroys any rts mp game. you must be really ignorant to release scuh a game without this feature. don't have a word for what you are if this feature didn't got number 1 on your priority list after 6 month.

edit: nearly all teames have stopped playing demigod. then there several players that now only play over lan.
