Essence of Magic: Demon Assassin's best favor item

Before DA, no one used EoM, and with good reason. BotS was better because most assassins have good AoE. Plus, 3 seconds is a very short time to fit in combos. However, with Demon Assasin, this has all changed. His abilities cast extremely fast which allows him to fit in Warp Area, Warp Strike, and Poison Arrow within the EoM 3 second limit! Starting from level 2, EoM can save you 950 mana every 37 seconds on cataract! Screw BotS and start using this favor item.

You'll still need a secondary mana item, as with all DA builds. I recommend getting either a Magnus Rod or a Vlemish, or both.

At level 10, EoM can save you 2950 mana every 37 seconds. That is extremely good. BotS can't hold a candle to this favor item. :D

A Vlemish, Magnus Rod, and EoM provide nearly endless mana. It's better than a Hungarlings and Magnus Rod but costs half of the gold. The only problem is that it uses 3 slots. They are all different types of slots, so perhaps that is forgivable.

shhhh stop telling people this

At level 10 BotS can return 3k off of warp area alone. Throw in Spine Attack and Warp Strike and you can easily get 4k mana off of skills, you get more if you also autoattack in that period.

Yes, but you still pay the mana cost. At level 10, 4000 - 2950 = 1050 net mana. I get 2950 net mana at level 10. Plus, I'll get much more mana early game, because BotS is crap early game for DA. Also, I can cast all of my spells instantly with zero mana which BotS can't do. Plus, it synergizes with Plenor Battlecrown and Magnus Rod due to its MPS buff. EoM is strictly better than BotS.

It's about damn time this favor item had a place in Demigod. :D

To each their own, but personally I think that after level 10 BotS blows EoS out of the water and even after level 5 it's quite comparable. It really just depends on how much autoattacking you do early game, but late game I think it's absurd to claim that EoS is still better outside of its 3 second window, I mean don't forget you can actually complete two warps within BotS's buff and get in at least 3 autoattacks.

BotS: it takes mana to make mana. Great if you have half a mana bar. Not so great if you're empty (useless, rather).

EoM: useful if you have full mana, no mana, OR half mana. However, you have a tiny window of opprotunity to use 3 skills (which you can, just barely ;) ). You also get the nice +210 mana and +7 mps compared to BotS +400 Mana / +15 Weapon Damage.

EoM is sure useful early level though.

except you can auto attack.

Interesting find!  I think I'll try this item.

I think we can all agree that EoM is more useful for DA then any other demigod, and that even a miniscule increase in the number of viable favor items is good news.

Phew. That EoM is training me to pull off a warp strike, spine attack and warp area within 3 seconds. Hard work

Dude, EoM is like a 2 second 0 cost ability.  You cast it, you have the animation delay and that brief pause before you can take another action.  You can only cast 1 ability in that time period.  I suppose some things you could get 2 off, but doubtful, unless they're instantaneous cast.

End of Cind3rs's quote

It's 3 seconds. Warp Strike is Instant, Spine attack is .3 seconds and Warp Area is Instant. Shadow Swap is 1 second

The issues are:

- using EoM breaks your current action (like Wand of Speed), sometimes leading to them escaping as they leave your cast area:-(

- the enforced latency of Demigod make it tough. There is an inherent .350 second delay to all your commands.

Push EoM

.350 seconds later, start your Spine Attack : .350

.3 second cast time                                 : .650

.350 seconds later, start your Warp Strike : 1.000

.350 seconds later, start Warp Area          : 1.350

Finish Warp Area(1.6), take Mana Costs    : 2.950

Which is less than 3. The issue, of course, is that you have very, very little room for human error. That said, replacing the Warp Area (which sucks anyway ;) ) to a Shadow Swap gives you a net gain of .6 seconds of human-error-time, giving you roughly 2/3rds of a second to screw around with.

It isn't hard to get 2 abilities off, given that they are well within casting range. Getting all 3 off is very difficult, though duable.

In theory, you could get all 4 off, since you don't pay the mana costs for Warp Area until AFTER it finishes, but it makes an 'mana check' while EoM is still active.

.350 seconds later, start your Spine Attack : .350

.3 second cast time                                 : .650

.350 seconds later, start your Warp Strike : 1.000

.350 seconds later, start Shadow Swap      : 1.350

1 second cast time                                 : 2.350

.350 seconds later, start Warp Area         : 2.700

Pay mana costs for Warp Area                 : 4.300

So, you'll pay for the mana-costs still, but what if you only have 200 mana? Well then you only paid 200 mana to cast, not the full 500 or however much it is. It's a net-gain.

There is no problem doing a 2,1,3 combo with EoM

Yeah, 2,1,3 is doable.  EoM is the only reason I would consider getting warp area.

EoM is what I use as well. Helps a LOT.

I gotta try this.  I can't get 3 instaneous casts off in 3 secs, even pressing the keys like mad.  It's stupid that your 3 seconds is already bit into by the casting of EoM itself, with animation cooldown and pause.

Wrath is still my choice
