Sick of Noobs Crying.

About getting kicked.

Listen up new players, if your frustrated about being kicked host your own games.

I don't know why this concept is so difficult for people to grasp. Host your game and title it accordingly. If your a noob put "NOOBLETS ONLY KTHX" as your title, don't come into a room that is "good players please" "Pros" "Premades Welcome" or other titles that indicate a knowledge of the game that you don't yet have, you will get kicked everytime.

The reason you are constantly kicked is because in a match with all good players one bad player basically means that team will loose. You will feed the team that is full of people that know what there doing and make it nearly impossible for your good partners to get anywhere against the well equiped, fed team. You are kicked almost immediatly because the team that you are sitting on in the lobby will most likely just leave because they don't want to get rolled.

If you are frustrated about your game not fill up immediatly be patient, my games never fill up in 3 minutes it usually takes atleast 10-30 minutes to get the first game going and after that happens many of the players from the first game return for the second game, this is called making friends.

I hope this post will lessen the amount of crying about being kicked from games. It takes atleast 100 games before you can roll with the big dogs here.

Maybe we should start upping the stakes around here.... if you lose a game, the penalty is you must host one game of n00b training. You must be polite, show them builds and items, how not to die and be generally helpful. :D

Hahahhaa!  I love it!  I work 24 hour shifts at my job, so we like to bet cooking days sometimes but this would be so much worse!

I joined a pug game today and saw that the host was 0-12.  Instead of just leaving, I politely explained that he should probably put "noob" in his game so he could play with other beginners because its only a fun game for everyone if everyone knows the basics.  He only had two words to say to me, and it wasn't "Thanks buddy!"  :'(

Hedgie, gonna make you teach Noob School after the next time we play!

Lord Orion's comment rules!

Cow since your making a separate topic on this in op may want to add why so in few nice words (mine are 2 reasons - they will ruin the fun for their teammates by feeding is secondary, mainly its cause I can never get a game going in first place when there is a noob on any side because good players will often leave).

I run my noobschool by directing them to this website, I went on an 11 game win streak when I just started reading this forum by simply tapping into the strategy section... 2 back to back wins prior at the most..  ofc noone ever listens though.

Sorry cow just you are tired of hearing noobs cry about being kicked from games. I am tired of hearing people bitch about both being kicked and pros telling noobs to make there own game. Has it occurred to you that they might have tried that and no one joined? There were times I made my own games and sat in there for just about 30 minutes with no sign of life coming. lets not for get that in game is acts a bit different than this bored; most in game players don't visit the boards at all, so they still judge players by both games and percent.

What Cow says is true about many newbs I encounter. Those who join those "good players" games normally don't understand anything else either so I wouldn't bother with them too much (I mean if you can't even understand a word how will you be able to get a hang of the game?).

However I see many newbs who acctually listen to what people say and want to learn. So not all is bad. :)

Unranked game option would solve all of these problems and be trivial to implement.

Esuzu is right. People are underestimating how dumb noobs are. We aren't malignent pro's who want only our own elitist games, we just want games without retards and boy are they dumb.

I play games with and against just about every type of player in game, so I know how new players can be. The point is stop crying over them joining your game on the board, and they need to stop crying about getting kicked from games when they are new. Because we all see how good that is doing, and most that do join none noob games are those who don't come to the board, so many of the post even in topics like this does not even reach them.

I just try to tell noobs to 1. host their own game/join "noobs only" games, and 2. read the forums a bit. Granted, not many people listen, but on occasion someone will say "thanks" and then go do it.

The biggest issue is that in Demigod one bad person can very very easily lose the game for a number of competent (even superior) teammates. So it really is imperative to prevent someone who doesn't have any idea what they're doing from joining a game where everyone else is a solid player.

Not this thread will ever be read by any of the "real" noobs, so I doubt it will do much of anything.

Not even that, but bad builds on your side will get good players killed when they are the tanks and get focus fired by good builds.

The most infuriating things I can think of are.

1) I lock a flag we just took from a DG in the lane so we can push the flag in the other lane. Then squishy decides this is the time to push the tower. Do I leave him to die? No, but I just wasted a lock.

2) DGs who don't stay focused on the hurt or weak DGs. This is especially bad when you have 3+ more on a team. You get the "OMG Don't die!" blame, because they just don't understand they got you killed by spreading dammage out across all the DGs as they shuffle around letting them all stay in play to continue doing focused damage.

I see this so often.... Grrrrrr!

3) Mirror DGs when you have the noticeably less effective mirror. Hey look, Shadow swap triple gank.... shadow swap triple gank... dear DA on our team, please continue your swapless speed build because we are going to win this way!

4) Expectation of shields/heal- You should be able to play and not get in trouble without these things if you don't have them. These things are a courtesy, or necessity only when the other team used a good tactic or you did something productive. If you run past the flag we don't own and get TP gank inbound, I really need to let you die as you run away to base so you learn.

5) Losing ground in a 2on1 when your teammates don't counter push. Hey yeah, I let the tower die, but it is 2on1 this side... WTF, you have 2on1 on the other side, why is that tower still there?

Basically, it all boils down to getting someone on your team killed and then blaming them since they are the ones who died.

When a team mate dies, watch the damn replay and look at not only what he did, but what the enemy did, and what you were doing at the time. Sometimes there is nothing you could do (or should do :D), other times you get an idea on improving your game and learning. I do this after every close game or loss.

Heals are to be expected when playing with sedna. If the enemy is focus firing on you, unless the sedna has stated "oom," I expect some heals coming my way. Now, that isn't to say I won't have a panic button, (sigil + tp) but sedna is expected to heal.

problem is it's so hard to tell who's a noob and who's not. i've played less than 40 games online and i already know how to play fairly well. then there are some who have played 100+ and can't stay alive to save their life.

This.

Noobs in fact are too dumb to realize they are noobs. They consider themselves pros after a few wins then somehow find a way into your game, get stopmed immediately and then wouldn't you know it, RAGE QUIT. I've had this happen numerous times with noobs claiming to be better than they really are.

Learn on their own time not mine.

For instance, this tard named Elektrum was playing with me and Naur tonight and just kept charging in like an idiot and kept requiring Naur and I to come in and try and save him. He just kept saying "don't worry about me" over and over and it cost us the game because we couldn't hold a lane from constantly having to leave and save his butt. This guy claimed to not be a noob, as usual, and played retarded.

All noobs should be flogged.
