OT: Weekend Drinking Thread

Oh man, let's start the party early.

I had a good dozen or so Pabst Blue Ribbons, and they tasted much better than I thought.

Hey, you should join the empire I'm in charge of, "The Whiskey Rebellion." Or not, it's okay. Heck, we're just here to have jun, right?

Cheers! :HOT:

I think I'm going to have a few glasses of Chianti in Little Italy in Baltimore this evening! That is, IF my flight gets in with all the rain we are having here on the East Coast (US). :D

1) Guiness

2) Sam Adams

3) Growlers from Dominion breweries

4) Michelob on the rocks (try it - it's surprisingly effective)

But no matter what your preference, just remember..."Fave Hun!" ;)

Michelob on the rocks?

That's a new one for me. Now I'll HAVE to try it. In any case, it's gotta be better than that swill I was drinking last night. :D

I'm currently enjoying a bottle of Chateau de Pic with my dinner, a very good Bordeaux, but also strong. Heck, I'm drunk already ;p
When the bottle's empty, maybe I'll add a glass of Laphroaig, a very peaty single-malt Whisky. Goes well with a cup of strong french roasted coffee. Hmm, might add a piece of apple pie to it... :D

Any "South Dakota" martini will do for me.

Recipe:
Pour beer into glass.
Drop in 1 or 2 olives.

Additional note: The olive will repeatedly rise and sink in your glass, as it collects bubbles, rises to the top, and then sinks when loosing them. Great fun for the whole family! :CONGRAT:

Your toenail clippings will also rise and fall in a glass of beer. I don't know why, and I really don't want to explain why I know it works...I was drunk, 'nuff said.

btw
1. Blackened Voodoo (new orleans beer)
2. Negra Modelo
3. Rolling Rock
4. Little Kings (I'm a sucker for the frat classics)
5. Miller Lite ('cause sometimes cheap is good)

Absolut Outrageous - a mix of various flavors of Absolut Vodka, but you can't tell that it's alcohol until you've had the second one and you're wondering why things have started looking blurry.  :)

Fuzzy Navel with Peach Schnapps, blended.

Frozen Margaritas and/or daquiris made with real fruit.

Also, anything that you say while you are drunk can and will be used against you by your best friends. :)

Stay alive - don't drink and drive. :)

How about some appetizers? I hear that skin is delicious.

Well, Elf, I could've used that reminder when I got home to write that first post up there. :(

But I heartily second the margaritas and Long Island Ice Tea comments. What's in a LIIT, anyway?

The best way to get a good education in alcohol is just to get some shouts going with your mates, where everyone tries everyone else's favourite poison. The more, the merrier. :)

Jack Daniels is good enough for me. Straight, or with some pepsi :d . I hardly drink anything else, well maybe some Crown Royal and Dr. Pepper once in a while, but that's about it.

Those ales are a bit hoppy for me
Hopback Summer Lightning (goes down singing hymns)
Wentworth WPA
Kelham Island Pale Rider
Black Sheep
Timothy Taylor Landlord

And a glass or 3 of Caol Isla or Benriach

Though the LIITs at the Art Room in Sheffield are an efficient way of losing the odd brain cell
