Demigod Clans - Guild Legends and Clan Pacov

Demigod Clans - Guild Legends and Clan Pacov

Ok.  Hopefully I'll flesh out this OP later, but I wanted to throw something together in the meantime.  I can speak directly for clan pacov on all things and a little for GL.  1st - there are 2 decent sized clans for Demigod out there.  You can easily join clan pacov and "maybe" join GL.  I say that because I don't know if they decline some people or how they handle things (happy to edit the op if you want to clarify).  2nd - both clans are on the lagwars vent.  Your 1st step to join either clan is to download ventrilo and join lagwars vent.

Here is where you can download the client (its free):   http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php

Here are instructions on how to use ventrilo to connect to a server:  http://www.ventrilo.com/setup.php

Here is the public vent info:

Lagwars vent
Hostname:  Oxygen.typefrag.com
Port:  50216

Once you join the vent, PM someone in clan pacov or GL.  Each of our channels are password protected but there are plenty of public channels to idle in and people from GL and clan pacov check out the pub channels from time to time.

Anyway, at this point, clan pacov is mostly about fun.  I'm an extremely competitive player, but lately have somehow become much more relaxed.  I'd much rather get a game quickly than wait 30 minutes to get in a game with my premade.

To join my clan (clan pacov... crazy, I know) - you don't need to change your name to Pacov_FutileEmotion or any nonsense like that. I personally like the concept of clans, but really don't care that much about naming conventions.  I welcome those that want to add CP or pacov_ to their name, but really, that doesn't matter all that much imo.  I also realize calling the clan "clan pacov" sounds narcissistic, but I really didn't care or think enough to come up with an intelligent name at the time when kingsdagger wanted to get some clan wars going so I got on board.

Anyway, here's how the clans/guilds actually work at this point.  Its a little counter intuitive, but again, its all good with me.  People who are in clan pacov may very well play on the same team with people from guild legends.  You will often find people from GL in clan pacov channels and vice versa.  Its no big deal, but that's pretty much how things have been happening.  Tonight, we had 12 people in the clan pacov vent channels, but some of those peeps are generally in GL.

Anyway, joining up with either group (or both) offers some benefits.  1 - you get voice chat.  AFAIK, everyone in either clan has voice chat (hopefully able to talk and hear, but at least able to hear).  You won't be excluded from clan pacov because you don't have a microphone, but you might if you refuse to join lagwars vent and listen in at least.  2 - you get more balanced games.  I can only speak for clan pacov here, but I do regularly balance games out to encourage more people to play with and against us.   I'm not looking for the super invincible premade team.  I'm looking for more and more people willing to mix things up.

If you are a newer player and not necessarily great, you are still welcome, but realize you are joining a group of skilled players.  If you want to be welcomed - come right out and say you are new and want to learn.  I'm confident someone in clan pacov will welcome you at the very least.  But if you assume you are awesome because you did ok in the few games you have played online, odds are you won't be welcome for very long.

Yeah, damnit I got replays. This is A LOT of fun, and I hope you guys are on another time for MOAR! Met (able) new people lauchged my ass of at Synn singing the entire vent channel to tears and just generally had a great time.

P.S. Seriously ask synn to sing a song for you when you're sad.

Do you need to buy a mic to use vent? I'm half deaf and my voice sounds terrible when recorded/transmitted so it doesn't seem like a good option for me.

You can launch the program, and go into whatever channel you want and hear what people are saying, but you can't respond. Which is kind of the entire point of vent, voicechat. But you can technically "use" it without a mic. There's also chat and TTS.

Well, hopefully you will never meet any of us in real life so we know exactly who produced that terrible noise...

Right - you can use it without a mic.  Obviously communication will be a little easier if you do have a mic, but even if all you can do is listen, that means you can hear everyone else and you'll be the only one that has to type.

You might want to try listening on voice chat and see if you can understand what people are saying or not.  Its worth giving a shot imo.

Yeah, had a nice game with you guys today. It was worth installing Vent again to play a game where I could talk to my teammates. Made coordination a lot easier and more tight. I'd really love to get on again and play a 5v5. :)

Glad to hear it, alter.  Hope to be free the next time you join up.

I feel the same though school isn't my "problem" at the moment. I am currently addicted by Mass Effect 2 :)

I've had a lot of fun games on the Vent. If I'm playing DG, I'm on Lagwars. It's much easier to get games going and its REAL fun to chat during the game. If you aren't using Lagwars, you should! :D

I got two 5v5 replays I saved. Here they are! :)

5v5 on Zik
5v5 on Mandala

Thanks for the replays.  I'll be on tonight.  Enough with me being busy.  Time to play some DG.  Hope to see many of you tonight!

Anyone have suggestions for entertaining, silly games?  All tb vs all X.  Brothers, mandala, etc?  I'm hoping we have enough people on to get some silly crap going.

I played my first all random games yesterday. It was fun as hell!

Two Ocs was SOOOOOOOOO funny. Me and LK would chase LE down forever! I would use my cloak, Chain Lightning, LK would Blast onto him and chain lightning. He was Bat away and I would Blast next to him and we would chase him down and get him with Chain lightning together.

It was crazy go nuts fun. Lost though.

Randoms are nice to mix it up. Double doc oc is pretty strong.  Nice to put a hurt onto a character that can normally escape :)  Perhaps we do a few random games on lesser played maps.

I'm also thinking along the lines of getting some games going where you can only pick a few specific characters maybe.  tb, qot, da.  Whatever though.  Must have some fun.

I'd love to play a game with No LE/Oak/UB.

Not saying its lame (which it is) or OP (which it is) but because I've NEVER PLAYED A GAME without one of them in it. I understand there arent a whole lot of choices, but still. Just would be nice to have no shields, bat swarms or bites.

hehe... and for possibly the most obnoxious game ever... 5v5 yetti sedna only?  You'd max out at 20 yettis on each side :)

Make a rule that says you can't fight with sedna, you must send wave after wave of yetis at each other...

Ready the Yetis!

Hehe... it was already painful with only yettis....

I want to see a lvl 20 Sedna. No items, just regen skills and 5 Sedna's worth of Yetis and see how long it really takes.

Horn of Battle IV really actually isn't as bad as everyone things, espiecially if combined with Ring of Divine Might.

The issue, however, is that Heal/Pounce/Healing Wind/Silence is soooooooo much better and even if you only invest one point in it: unlike yetis which requires 4 points to be "decent".

Hopefully you do it on Prison :-/ and I think you'd need idols as well.

Horn of the Yeti? 4 could be fantastic. But 1,2,3 suckith the ballsith.

I was just joking, thinking it would be funny to see the Yetis try.

Oh, and on a side note: Yeti's look BAD ASS if you zoom in on them.
