Unhandled Exception

My Demigod game crashes every now and then. First game freezes, sound stops and when I alt+tab back to Windows there's this Unhandled Exception error report, please somebody help me. Game is up to date according to Impulse.

System:

Intel Core duo 8500

MSI P35 Neo motherboard - chipset driver updated

3 gigs of ram

Nvidia 8800 GTX - newest drivers

Creative X-fi extremegamer - newest drivers

also DirectX updated to the newest version.

If you are experiencing crashes, please download this zip file and run the .cmd inside. It will gather a variety of debugging info and generate another zip file in My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod\reports which you can email to [email protected]. They will then pass the info on to the developers if they cannot help solve the issue.

I too have this precise problem, as described in the 1st post.

I bought Demigod about a month ago. Have played maybe 20-30 games with different demigods, never been any issues. Today I wanted to play another game, and this error came up. No new drivers, no new hardware, no changes at all, it just went to !#¤!.

I should point out that this doesn't happen every now and then, I've attempted to start 14 single player games now, and each time I get as far as the second loading screen where the arena is presented.

Needless to say, I am quite frustrated - please help.

I've searched the forums more and, unless I'm mistaken, it seems this problem has persisted since beta-stage. Stardock, I hope and presume that means that data on the problem is abundant?

Anyone have any clue why it happens so suddenly, after a long stream of succesfully completed games?

I think it has to do with clicking or doing anything while a game is loading. If you load a game and just take your hands off the keyboard, it always seems to work. If you switch screens or click on the demigod window it goes to not responding and crashes. I've also found crossing your fingers and holding your breath to work.

Nope.

I found a workaround (knock on wood). If you delete all files, not folders, in your Documents/My Games/Gas Powered Games/Demigod, then you should be able to start anew - without save games and favor points, however. Found a reference somewhere to just deleting your gameprefs-file, but that was certainly not enough.

It is a bit laughable, though.

Unfortunately that workaround didn't work. I'm guessing it still has something to do with my soundcards. I have one integrated to my motherboard (disabled from hardware setup..) and Creative X-fi installed with newest drivers.
