The grey circle shows the speculative setting of SoaSE as we know it. The Dueteri Backwaters are planets that have been left out of the mainstream colonial drive, and abandoned by the central government. In this power vacuum, numerous human nations have arisen to take responsibility for parts of space. Similarly, unwanted exiles of the Vasari and the Advent migrated here and formed their own nations. Together, they form the empires that we recognise in games of SoaSE.

the whole point of the TEC's strife was that htye were being attacked from 2 fronts, with them stuck in the middle. not dissing the creativity but one must listen to the facts
