Oak Shield

In last game I was tryin to convince oak on my team that he can shield and port and dont get interupt when he gets shield 3.

Lately i noticed that skill description is worng since it dosnt state that shield 3 protects from interupts. It must be GPG mistake.

But belive me shield 3 makes oak one of the best demigods out there. During shield 3 you cant be interupted, you can port away or even better use big pot to finish everyone off.

Delaying shield till lvl 10-13 (many builds sugest that) will harm your team and urself.

Other thing i noticed that people intend to play hybrid build and keep fightiing in frontline. This is quite ridiculus since if you start with monks and minion favor (horn or ring) then go ward, morale or soul power, you have no way of escaping. When you want to go minion build remember that minions go first not you (especailly since you dont have f...n shield).

Ps.

bhwahaha.  nice.

Anyway, yeah - the only oak build where i personally wouldn't get to shield 3 asap is minion oak (and even then i want to).

And yes, just like irek said - shield 3 can't be interrupted so it means you can cast it and teleport away without fear of interrupt.

This is mostly true, you can (and this is happened to me) interrupt the actual casting of shield.

You have to watchout for a good DA cause you will be comming right back.

As someone who has played Oak almost exclusively since Reg was the top ranked Demi and Oak was 5th (think about that!) I can say I have tried just about every build style out there. You get Shield 3 at level 7. Period. (The only exception is pure minion buids, but I don't really play those as they are really annoying to play against and really boring to play.) Any version of hybrid or assassin Oak should have Shield 3 at level 7, especially if you are on Cataract, which is 90% of the time. You will never get a ton of kills with Oak, unless the game goes past level 12, (or your opponents are awful) but you should have maybe one death before Shield 3 and none after it. You should have destroyed all the important towers and capped all the important flags. Why? Because you can stand there for that extra few seconds to finish that tower or lock that flag which would have been certain death for anyone else. Because you have Shield 3.

HAHAHA now everyone using fucking minion build.

So annoying

Its ok,, doesn't mean you lose, (But you really lose if he is the only one doing minion build)

Just so annoying

eh iunno.. I personally love a minion hybrid build which gets shield at lvl 11 and has shield 3 by 13.

Basically the minions just give you a little more versatility.  You can take down towers faster and by taking less damage, and yet you still have the assassin role.  I've had amazing success with it (as long as my teammates know what I'm doing).  It really only fails if my teammates play too aggressively at the beginning rather than playing more conservatively until midgame.

Really it depends on your team's play style.  If they don't mind making minor moves and being very cautious until you become Super Oak @ lvl 10 then it can be amazing.

The way I see it, the first half is about tearing down towers and maintaining flag control to clear pathways to the portals and be the first to get catapults / giants.  The second half starts after you've cleared the lane towers and are ready to start pushing portals in prep. for creep advancement.  Spirits + pen / surge provides much more benefit in holding a lane and destroying towers than shield / porting out of a gank.  Avoid the ganks early.  Shielding then potting early on is a waste of gold.  You don't guarantee a kill, and consumable to kill gold ratio is much lower early game than late game.  Then late game when you need portals, you have shield 3 available to you to run in and be crazy.  Meh.

sounds good rawwwrr, wanna show the build? :)

also, do you wanna join the tournament? we only need 3 more players.

I find it funny Dont fuck wit that last game i won with my team, yet it showed up as a loss.  And for the darndest reason I can not figure out how it shows you winning.... Hmmmm... I wonder if you could of done something 'special' that tee hee no one knows about, but really does.

if just the noobs would stop screaming "cheater" all the time. this game has bugs and there are perhaps a hand full of people that exploit or regularly cause an invalid gamestat (imo even that mostly unwillingly) but please stop accusing everyone just because a usual bug fucked up your stat.

I've had people rage quit after 3 spit interrupts in a row.

One game I randomed LE, so I tried Le's minion build.....within the 4 four minutes before I had crashed I told myself never again.

I think my build is up somewhere on these forums.. too lazy to look, I'll just post it again.

1. Raise Dead Ward 1

2. Soul Power 1

3. Penitence 1

4. RD Ward 2

5. Surge of Faith 1

6. Pen 2

7. Pen 3

8. RD Ward 3

9. Save

10. Pen 4 / SoF 2

11. Shield 1

12. Shield 2

13. Shield 3

14. RD Ward 4

15. SoF 3

16. DJ 1

17. Soul Power 2

18. Soul Power 3

19. DJ 2

20. DJ 3

The order changes occasionally depending on how the game is going.  I might pick up a point in shield earlier if it will get me a kill and let me live.  I might get more spirits first if I'm not consistently getting in battle and needing to increase pen first.

Items - Vlemish, Nimoth, Plenor.  Bishops / Demolishers.  Then some other armor to fill out the other slots.  Usually ends up being unbreakables and banded armor.  Things change depending on the game, but that's generally it.  The goal is to knock towers down early while staying back and rotating between flags (I know I wrote an indepth guide to playing the mana flag side on cataract).  The minions are there to aid in taking down towers, and to provide extra dmg on your attacks.

I like complimenting the minions with increased dmg through penitence / SoF.  That way you don't need minion items or morale, but they're still a threat when they're with you.  The only thing is you have to play more cautiously through the beginning of midgame as you don't have a shield.

I enjoy playing against any Oak build that doesnt use shield as a crutch the whole game :D

Playing with Spirits against TB is an auto-lose :P That's the real reason why you like it.

I didnt say this build or minion builds at all. Hence the word 'any'.

I enjoy playing against everyone who look down on people with 21% and when those people with 21% are using qoT, they usually think "Instant win!"

If they aren't getting shield and they don't have minions, they are an Assassin build. So, they are putting their points into something else. Pentitence is maxxed out in an Assasin build and so is Surge. No points in shield.

So: It's either Morale (with no spirits. LOL), Divine Justice (mostly useless against TB. No reason to put more than one point in that before level 10 unless going against a minion build), Or Last Stand (even better lol). You can only put 3 points into DJ before level 10 anyway and Assassin builds are putting 1 point in it already, for the most part. So where is the third point for Shield III going? Last Stand or Morale.

You would love to play against such an Oak, even more so then against a Spirit Oak. You also love to play against people who don't use BotF because it means your spells do a larger % damage of their total hp and their sigils are less effective. -> You enjoy playing against people who use weak builds.

Man, you sure do like to look way to much into things and bitch.

No, I said I don't like people who lean on shield.

And your a pussy if you use BotF. Period.
