Generals and Assassins are pretty much the same?

the more i think about this . it all come down to the skill you are taking. with a General if you drop the minion skill you can make him a fine Assassin. but if you play Assassin you will have more usefull skill to kill demi-god but you have to pick what you want cuz you still have 20 point to your skill if you play that long. so you cant have them all. so you have to focus your 20 point to make the build you want. in the end it's the same Generals and Assassins. but ofcourse with a General you can have minion.

and what can a Generals that an Assassins can not do?

Generals are better to hold flag what i have hear but if have a AOE demi god you lose the flag.

end game Assassins are more powerfull then a General with minion build what i have seeing and try.

what do you think ?

I think what Wip is saying without any tact is that if you look at the stats you are missing something. UB is definitely a good assassin. But Oak and Erebus are probably the strongest DG's in the game. Taking advantage of their minions is key to making them the strongest. Other than UB, all of the other assassins are difficult to make competitive in a high skill game.

Oak and erebus are considered strong because:

Oak: can have monks/bishops and at level 7 shield + teleport away from any fight.  The only counters are stuns (before shielding) ie. graps, silence, mass charm etc.  And AOE takes out the monks / bishops.

Oak struggles in 1v1 against ranged attackers (Occ, TB, autoattack build reg etc.)

Erebus can also have monks / bishops. LE can also get away from most fights, instead of shield / port there is batswarm and mist.

However assassins deal damage and lots of it.  Hammer Slam, fireball, snipe... that amount of burst damage is just incredible.  Beast is also the DPS king...

I feel like the OP is a zen koan - pretty much anything can be read into it ^^

So here's my take:

Individual DGs, whether Assassin or General, are powerful in direct proportion to their stun and interrupt abilities and mitigation.  Everything else is secondary.

UB is the anchor of most teams because his stun doesn't trigger immunity.

The strongest high-level team is Rook (boulder), UB (grasp), and Erebus (charm).

Every DG who does not have a stun or or quick interrupt operates at a relative disadvantage.

That's it.

but the ultimate dps king is fire tb i think

I can't disagree with you ke5, but i do think sedna's silence is the best stun in the game. Her mitigation via regen is awesome as well however her damage output is low (unless pounce is leveled up or /sarcasm she gets Yetis's)

uphax fire tb has awesome burst damage with fireball & nova and great ranged dps with AA, whereas UB has crazy dps with spit, ooze & grasp.

Yah Silence is golden.  I guess it depends on what you are doing.  If you want to lock a flag then Shield III and Silence are great.  If you are trying to kill someone then they aren't as good as the alternatives.

Ultimately there is no difference between general and assassins. They're playing styles are literally the same thanks the he who will not be named, but I would like to turn him into frog legs for it. But individually this is a great difference in the force.

"Unlike the Assassins, Generals are far weaker in direct combat (one-on-one, any Assassin can kill any General) but what they lack in sheer destructive capability they make up for in strategic versatility, particularly the ability to be in more than one place at a time through the agency of their minions."

"Or by splitting off, the player can strike on multiple fronts while leaving his or her General vulnerable to assault. "

"This type of demigod is still very powerful, but its greater strength comes from the units under its command. The character can summon various forms of minions, and give them orders. "
Source

"A general, although less potent on its own, can either focus its minions on a single target, or look to control various parts of the map."

I'm not a good Sedna player, but the last game I played with her there was a suddenly biteless-swarmless-mistless-sigiless-stunless-and eventually lifeless Erebus on the other team that might possibly disagree with you.

lol well, I take your point, lads.

Not that it really matters, since there are maybe 4 people who play Sedna worth a damn anyway ^^

Thunder knows when I silence. I say "Erebus dies". It's a magic-act.
