There are some real asses in this community

Every online community has assholes  I think they just stand out more in demigod given that it's quite a small online community.  

It's just part of online competitive gaming I think.  People get pretty emotionally invested in winning.

What to do?  Meet other people that like playing and form your own demigod gaming group and try not to get offended by internet kids.

Have you tried clan Pacov?  

I've not used it myself as I have my own group, but I think they organise balanced games or something.  ^^

They do. I know several of them. However, they aren't on whenever I'm on, so I get stuck in pug games. IMO it would be nice if they could add a permaban feature. For now, if I see this one again, I'll have my firewall drop packets from his IP. He'll never connect to one of my games again, or at least until he changes IPs.

It's been a day of assholes today. I had a game I assumed the game settings were normal when I hosted, but they weren't probably because of the previous game I'd joined. The settings were horrid, of course one guy in the game blames me, to which I responded that I didn't expect the change and didn't check, nor did he, so it was his own fault he was there. After that, I don't think I've ever seen so many racist comments from anyone in any game so far.

I can see what Frogboy was getting at: The bad apples in this game really are toxic individuals.

Well as already mentioned CP or clan pacov is a great idea imo cause there are almost always 2-3 ppl on willing to play all you need is to download vent mic not req

Grimunk, I was on the other team in the game you were talking about.  You made it clear the odd settings were not your idea, and they had equal effect on both teams.  Gradzelli was an ass in that game, even in winning.  Not sure if there was a race he missed insulting, but he tried for all of em.  (Was a great game tho, aside from the insults.)  Just remember who the idiots are and avoid them as best you can.  There are still a lot of fun players pugging.  

@grimunk If u dont wanna ur game to crash, jsut open a new slot to get another play and when u are full...kick him. If he only join/part to crash ur game just change map each time he part. Some ppl report that on forum. If u change map/setting when too much ppl join/part u wont crash in lobby. Try this next time

It's a shame that some people have to act that way.  Some people take gaming a tad too seriously.

That's the biggest reason I haven't joined any games other than those that are hosted by people I personally know. Unfortunately, that's only been a couple of games now.

Banter and giving each other grief is fun when it's done in jest.  People going overboard suck the life out of it.

Ya I remember him too. He must've been off his meds. You should have seen the game right afterwards, you'd have been going "wtf?" with the guy who freaked out there too.

I never knew about the map change trick, thanks! It did occur to me that I could keep the guy in the lobby until it was time to boot, but I thought he could still screw the game over by rapidly switching slots (which he started doing), and by badmouthing me and everyone who joined.

Yup.  This is often the easiest way to avoid someone crashing your lobby.  I'll typically ask a person to leave (its generally if we are hosting an expert style game and someone with little experience or poor stats joins).  If they won't leave after me asking them to, then I'll kick.  If they come back, I just open another slot on their team, tell them they are welcome to wait if they want, but that they won't be playing.  Oddly people generally don't get that hostile when I handle it that way and just leave on their own. 

my 2 experiences thus far w/ Jon_Lenin have been terrible as well grimunk.  First one he refused to ready up, constantly complaining about teams (he thought our reg / qot / random would have been OP with doubles apparently).  He finally agreed later when I opened another slot, someone else joined, and I said I was going to kick him since he wouldnt ready up lol.  He readied up quickly.

The other experience was when I was on another account due to invalid username on rawrrrr (time saver ftw!) and he refused to play on my team even though the other side at the time had a 20 games 30% individual.  He just seemed like a very negative person.  could have just been that day tho.

Yea, some people are jerks. I remember playing with you earlier and you were a very good Reg, but some other people weren't so great (although I wasn't in that game). The nice thing is that the bad apples are fairly few and far between.

I'm generally become an asshole to those newbs who don't seem to listen to your advice and take it as an insult to their obvious uber build that has taken down so many AI's that it can't be bad (See AF reg)

But I have no problem having a newb on my team as long as we balance with on the other team as well.

oh btw: ALWAYS GET MONKS FROM THE START, esp if your the only general.

I think i just played with the guy you are talking about.  The game was neck and neck the entire time until our team started to pull ahead, but this guy, Blaze_of_Glory, kept acting like it was all over with after someone on my team died. He was "doomsaying" before either team even hit war rank 3.

He even threatened to sit there and watch us lose.  There needs to be a RAD button (RAD = report as dick).

I can certainly understand the frustrations of playing with someone who isn't as good as you, but I cannot understand people who fail to see their arrogance and negativity as the main reason why a team loses, whether you are playing video games or working your 9 - 5.
