Only one way(for me) to balance Queen with other Demigods
shield on buildings as well...??
shield on buildings as well...??
I dont see how that would save her ass at levels 13+ where she really falls apart and costs her team the game.
As it is, she is mostly fine until late game... but could use an interrupt to prevent people from popping potions in her face or escaping from a battle she won. She has high damage from spikes, but it is not a burst, It takes 5 seconds to dish it out so it is easy to get around since she can't stop you from using items/skills.
From another viewpoint, she has the most amount of useless skills. There is really only 1 way to play her, and so far I don't see many people doing it the right way. (probably because they don't have much experience with her, or have done a hard mathematical analysis like lifekatana has done)
Regardless, I am not a tier 1 player, but if a tier 1 player were to use Lifekatana's build along with his and my meta game strategy with her, she would belong with the other tier 2 demigods.
Additionally, to be clear, I don't think any build or strat would put her as a tier 2 demigod in the hands of non-awesome player though, She is VERY hard to use with Lifekatana's build to reap the rewards.
Lifekatana's and my guide is coming soon. It really is being worked on. Lifekatana and I are talking back and forth to complete it weekly. I am excited to see some tier 1/2 players put it to use to see what happens.
She badly needs an interrupt. The only late-game strategy that she has is creep-wave busting (which is important). I agree with Orion that she has some useless skills, or skills that should be combined (like compost and entourage). Seems that Brad or someone mentioned some time ago the possibility of giving her the ability to heal buildings. If they had done this, she would have been a must for most teams. But alas....
It would be cool, lol.
What if Rook could structural transfer INTO an allied tower? hah!
HOLY CRAP THAT IS AWESOME! Everyone would want to play rook. His defensive capabilities would be ridiculous. Plow through to the enemy portal, set up a farm, turn into a giant tower mwahaha!
Don't hold your breath buddy... if and when the mythic Lifekatana Queen Build ever shows up, I've got a funny feeling it will have a few disclaimers on its use such as:
-Make sure you have someone else buy currency and FS I for your team
-Make sure you have good players on your team playing with stronger demigods than your opponents
-Make sure you power level on the mana side
Best way I've seen the Queen played is someones smurf account named Saltyclam (tee hee) who used Swift Anklet and Spikes/S Wave/Shield and put points into Morale later when he had level IV totems.
Early game he could disengage at will which helped cause of queens high mana and health regen and you couldn't ever feel too safe around her cause she was faster and you never knew if she had and extra shield to chase you down with or not.
Later game she had her high AA buddies and non-shambler minions kicking your ass while you were double spiked, and her speed and shield could get her out of most jams.
Of course, like all Queen builds it had glaring weaknesses and could only be played in certain situations.
I prefer cloak myself. The extra mana regen at the beginning of the game is great and offers gank+escape as well.

Thundercles, you were talking about disengaging at will, but wouldn't cloak help you do this better. Swift Anklet still doesn't let queen chase because her AA is bugged (selects random targets)
^What he said. Start with Cloak, monks, and a Combat Mana Potion. Put all points into Shield/G. Spikes/Spike Wave through level 10. Start getting and upgrading Shamblers at levels 11-14. Don't go cheap on idols; try to upgrade them throughout the game, especially siege idols. Always carry a tele scroll or two. Along with Cloak, tele scrolls can help her get a gank here and there.
The QoT minion build is better than it was before the patch, but IMO still does not replace the usefulness of spikes and shield in the early- to mid-game. I only start thinking about Shamblers after level 10, when they give QoT a little extra staying power against other demigods. You can get a point or two of Mulch if you want to face off against other demigods in the late game. However, her best usage then--as always--is busting creeps in the lanes (level-10 Ground Spikes can insta-kill anything up through catapults, and a follow-up dose of level-10 Spike Wave will nearly drop giants).
She still needs an interrupt though.
Syn: UB and Erebus are tier 1 demigods and will always be better than Queen especially endgame... and everyone else for that matter. Oak is tier 1 as well because Shield III makes him immune to their rapery. If you want to play a game with decent players who are using LE and UB, make sure you have decent players on your team using LE or UB who can do all the things you can't and will benefit from your groundspikes the most. If not, just play LE, UB, or Oak yourself. Or get raped playing Queen. These are the options, their is no magic Queen build that changes this... I'm very sorry to have to be the one to tell you.
Jon: Back when I played Queen thats how I did it. No argument from me that Cloak is great, specially for Queen. However, sometimes Swift Anklet is better for ganks and escapes in certain situations and theres no cooldown. And you get too and from the crystal 15% faster. And you cap the mid flag 15% faster.
Spit: Its not bugged when you're playing her as a pure assassin like Saltyclam (tee hee) cause its having minions that seems to fuck up her attack. By the time he starts styling out his level 4 totem minions (which are the only ones he bothers with) with morale and sicking them on people he just double spiked, his bugged autoattack doesn't matter. In the beginning it really messes with peoples gameplan not knowing how low they can safely let their health get down in the lane with you because you can chase them down while shielded. Or your UB buddy...
Hunger: I don't play Queen as a general. If you need a general on your team, pick Sedna who does just about everything better. If you have a combination of Oak, Erebus, or Occulus on your team I think she's solid as a speed anklet assassin... but I have more fun playing Torchbearer and get less grief from potential teamates about not getting monks if I don't have two generals on my team. Hell... main reason I stopped playing her is cause people would get upset before the game even started cause I picked her.
First off why are you trying to tell me stuff I already know about queen? Hell you are trying to tell me stuff that any average player should already know. I am not a noob dude; secondly I could care less about le, ub, or any other demigod who are not queen, tb, and to a lesser extent sedna and oc (the only mage based demigods in the game really.
"I use to run queen with swift anklet, until i learned ub and le would always be faster in one way or another."
This is why I tried telling you stuff you already know. Its rather silly IMO to point out how much better Erebus and Beast are as an example of why not to do something in this game.
