Why is everyone so rude to noobs?

We were all noobs at one point

I keep getting kicked out of match setup rooms for being a 'noob'. They tell me to go to noob servers, but there are never any listed.

Seriously? It's hard enough to find a game to play without being kicked out of most of them by people who don't want to help me learn the game.

I'm willing to take anybody's orders or act as a sidekick - I have no interest in trying to challenge an experienced player's knowledge.

 

Whatever, I will wait until they release a more popular version of this game and play that instead.

Just host your own. Always simply host a game, when there is no game for you in the list.

yes, we were all noobs at one point.  I know I didn't want to play against the 700 games 70% win people when I first started, or the team of friends who can beat just about anyone.  Those games weren't fun for me, because I was a noob, and they weren't fun for anyone else on my team.  I wanted people around my skill level.

Take your own advice.  If you don't see a game specifically for noobs up, you can host a lobby very easily!  It doesn't take a supercomputer to host a lobby, anyone can host

Well I'm rude to MOST noobs just because they don't follow orders/make incredibly misleading plays.

However, when I can see that said noob/inexperienced player is trying and really not trying to be a burden by listening to advice and what not, I'll be kind and reassuring. That being said, scenario one happens a lot more then scenario two. Also, I see like 4 noob host games for every one mid or higher hosts.

My advice, play Oak Tyler and learn how to shield properly, that way you can account for other noobs.

Hi

Its a good thing you posted here on forums.You can find a lot of good strategy guides for each demigod.Read all tips and tricks.Since its a p2p system every player can host a game. Host a game for new players.Listen to Epiphenomenon, go to ventrilo servers if you can, so some, more experienced ppl. can give you additional tips.Raise your game count and expirience and im sure you`ll do fine.

Also, the vent mentioned is Lagwars vent.  Just do a search in the forums and you will find it.  A lot of us on that vent will be more than happy to help you.  Please be sure to mention your skill level in vent and ask for help in getting more knowledge otherwise some may assume you already know the game.

Hey buddy, looks like you have the right attitude as far as letting people give you advice/critisism... crap, I can't spell criticism oh that time I got it right!  Pretty good for never having gone to colledge... crap!  College?  Ah, there we go.

Anyway, try playing with Oak, UB, or Erebus... when you make the jump from beginner games, that will serve you well.

I don't personally care at all about winning, but I don't want a beginner on my team who's going to play with one of the weaker demigods... thats just not fun for anyone, even the guys on the other team who are killing my noob teamate over and over and over and over and over.

You're welcome in any team of mine... as long as you play UB and stack the hell out of HP items and max out ooze and spit we'll still lose, but we'll fight the good fight!

Oh, and sorry bout any attitude you've encountered... trust me, theres lots of pricks who've given us a bad experience helping out beginners... just get over any nonsense people have said, host noob games, get better, play the three best demigods, and I'll see you in the experienced games soon.

there are plenty of noob games open everytime i go online. and why some of us (me included) are rude sometimes is because most noobs dont listen to anything you tell them. they join a "be good" "no noob" game. you ask very polite if they havent read the title. they dont react. you say: "please leave, join a noob game instead or host your own game!". no reaction. you say "here are people that have over 1000 games you wont be able to compete, so please leave now". again no reaction. you just wasted 2 minutes of your life and that guy is still in. so what next? kick. and for the rest of the day you dont talk anymore but just kick.

Demigod needs to use pre-scripted responses that you can set to keys. So you could have this response set to, say, ctrl + f1, and whenver you see a noob join your game, you just hit ctrl+f1 to explain everything.

I got kicked off a noob server as a noob, because I was a noob. I'm not bad with Oak (can beat 1 vs. 2 nightmare) but it really doesn't matter, I guess. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever play an online game.

Along with others here, I strongly recommend that you host your own games and call them "Noob Only."  Make sure to check people's stats as they join. You can do that by clicking on the "Player Info" button that appears in the in-game lobby.  For noobs games, I think it's fair to kick anyone with more than 50 games.  Heck, you can set your own rules as host and kick anyone with more than 20 games if you like. 

Also, just be aware that Demigod has a relatively small player-base compared to a lot of online games, so you need to be patient when trying to get into a game.  I often find myself waiting 30 min or more just to get into a decent mid-good player game.  The nature of the beast.  Sorry some people are rude, be patient, and I hope you stick with it.

i always play with noobs, I create games specifically for them and is always willing to with them with demigods builds and items (ones i actually use that is.)

Actually, Shane and I were never noobs because we were here almost since the beginning of day 1, and because we played together so often we won almost all of our matches.
