I´ve heard a rumour That there are something called a "download-Bot" Is it true that some use it 2 get more downloads ?? I can´t believe it !! CHEATING ! As PO said " I´m Pissed off " ( If true )

So...your pissed off that someone is getting more than one download at a time?
We take steps to prevent things like that. These "rumors" are usually started by one person who has something against another skinner.
My advice: Don't worry about nonsense like this.
Apparently clueless here. 
What makes a skin look better than the rest is the time and effort put in by the skinner. How many times a skin has been downloaded doesn't enter in my decision as to whether or not I like a skin. Would I use it on my desktop is what I use as a guideline.
The best way to get many downloads = do some proper quality work.
Besides that.... neone6, that "rumour" is ancient. Some years ago 'someone' exploited a site-loophole and cheated him/herself to a hell of a lot of downloads. Which is childish and pathetic. You win NOTHING by getting loads of downloads. It's not a competition.
The loophole was plugged up, so now all you get is nothing. One user = one download count. Same user tries again = no download count.
Our coding pigeons are clever.
Ofcourse It´s a sort of competition... If it wasnt then why the stars and the downloadcount... As you said Snowman, It´s a thing of the past and it doesnt happen anymore. I believe you !! BUT Just for the record -I hereby STATE -If The download-count is somehow unfair due to tampering by users then it´s cheating ! ´nuff said.

I have found that in life more things are done because folks like to do it rather than because it's a competition.

wow. we (the old folks around here) know who had the "download bot" and/or updated skins almost daily. it happened years ago. it is not a recent happening.
as for skinning being a competition, .......... it isn't now nor has it ever been except for the gui's of years past. if all you're after is so-called glory through a download count, you're skinning for the wrong reasons. i've never seen mike, tim, john, renato, or any others of their caliber complaining about download counts.
I like when people like my stuff... If you say you don´t care what people think of your work, I don´t believe you.
Addressing this "matter", a matter/wound closed years ago, is not common sence.
It's bordering being an 'attention whore'.
neone6, you're relatively new to the skinning business. You have NO idea what the rest of us is thinking, no idea AT ALL.
Some of us actually don't give a flying pigs-shit about ratings nor download counts.
Why is it that every post by this genius is a major waste of time? It should be obvious, though. They all include the intelligent "WTF".
