Some major empire alignments revealed!

Some major empire alignments revealed!

Spymaster Gerakken has wasted much time and effort in rooting out the alignments of four major empires that I keep track of: GROSS, ANZAC, MWC, and The White Council. The results may amaze you, the results may annoy you, and you may not even care, but what the heck. Here is the alignment breakdown in players per category:

GROSS
Very Good : 0
Chaotic Good: 4
Neutral : 7
Chaotic Evil:16
Pure Evil : 1
Overall alignment: 60.7% evil.

ANZAC
Very Good : 3
Chaotic Good:18
Neutral : 5
Chaotic Evil: 2
Pure Evil : 1
Overall alignment: 72.4% good.

MWC
Very Good : 0
Chaotic Good:19
Neutral : 6
Chaotic Evil: 4
Pure Evil : 2
Overall alignment: 61.3% good.

The White Council
Very Good : 3
Chaotic Good: 9
Neutral : 3
Chaotic Evil: 3
Pure Evil : 0
Overall alignment: 66.7% good.

The rules of the analysis are simple. Only players in the empire with scores greater than zero are counted. There are a couple of rare cases were false very goods were changed to very evils because there is a bug that sometimes calls a player very good when they have nothing but evil games on record.

Anyway, now that the secret has been revealed, feel free to rate your empire, if you dare, or just take some time to comment on the shocking scandal that is unfolding. Empiring may never be the same now that the truth is out there! :SURPRISED:

Tonight's special guest, the powerful Gamma Squad:

Very Good : 1
Chaotic Good:11
Neutral : 5
Chaotic Evil: 6
Very Evil : 1
Overall alignment: 50% good.

The Gamma Squad is an elite unit of soldiers, individually known as Gamma Troopers. They are the lone rangers of the Galciv age, hunting down the fugitives of coding justice, perps called bugs. They seem to have no interaction as a group, other than a shared common identity, but the combined exploits of the individual Gamma Troopers have left a steady and profound influence on the map. Beware of breaking any of Gamma Squad's laws while in their territory.

They have access to advanced weaponry that is at least a generation ahead of what is normally available. A lot of these old warriors have retired, their then advanced weaponry sitting on some mantle or trophy case, but a few of these legends still roam the Metaverse, armed with even fiercer weapons now.

Don't think the Spymaster has given up yet. It takes more than a holiday weekend to slow me down, and not to mention the fact that a few of these empires are armies compared to the others!

Anyway, what will the future bring? First, profiles on Apolyton and the European Alliance will be completed. Then the first four empires I briefly touched on (GROSS, ANZAC, MWC, and The White Council) will be redone with a more complete write-up.

As usual, I will spare no effort in wasting time in order to share this information of questionable worth. Read it or not at your own discretion and peril. More reports will start drifting in as the week progresses.

After that, who knows? Except maybe for me, but maybe only part of me knows still. Looks like I will end up investigating myself! :D

lol KitWarrior

but beware the Terran Federation is slowly creeping up into the top ten. Soon very soon

Yeah, I noticed that as I was checkin' out the Empire rankings. My not-so-personal philosophy: squash 'em when they're little! >:( But how to do that? Hmmm... nuts.

Well good luck to y'all then! ;p ;)

Very nice spymaster.

Nice to see the younger races taking control. We were there when the great Frogboy became the first senient being. Some of us were among the original seven 'alphas', the founders of knowledge. After time the 'betas' stared appearing and we went out among the stars and taught the younger races. Then the great Frogboy decided to create the Metaverse for us to live in. He spoke to the great T-Man and asigned this task to him. The alphas and the great and wise among the betas were called and once again we responded to the call. We went into the metaverse before all others to explore and shape this new universe. We assisted the great T-Man in his great endevour. We saw all, and what we saw was good.

Finally the day of dawning arrived. March 26th 2003, by the ancient Earth calander. The 1st day of the fourth (Delta) age by Galciv reckoning. Over 15 months since the 1st age (alpha) began. The younger races arrived. Once again we wandered the Metaverse and assisted the younger races. But our time was at an end. Many of the first ones had already left, their names but memories on the Gammasquad lists. The rest of us will remain for a time longer. Whether an age or five ages we have not decided. But what we have decided is that this age belongs to the younder empires, and we look forward to seeing how they shape this great Metaverse. Us first ones will eventually fade back into the ether remaining as ghost stories and occasional strange occurances.

Paul.

Ah, a visit by one of the Precursors. PQ raised for all empires in this thread.

How much Jolt would you need to drink to continuously play GalCiv to crack into the top 25 now? LOL

Tonight, the Spymaster profiles an empire of strategists, the mighty army that is Apolyton:

Very Good : 3
Chaotic Good:43
Neutral : 8
Chaotic Evil:14
Very Evil : 4
Overall alignment: 59.7% good.

What is now called Apolyton is really a Precursor self-sufficient space station in a very small pocket dimension. The Precursors left it behind long ago, but some lucky humans have stumbled across it accidentally over the eons. The station houses a dimensional nexus connecting a multitude of parallel universes. The Apolytons have used this nexus to study strategies in both warfare and politics from several of these alternate universes. The only weakness that these dimension jumping warlords seem to possess is that they sometimes have favorite dimensions they do not wish to leave, and some just jump around so much that they do not pay much attention overall to our dimension. If they ever united in purpose and converged on us as a pack, our reality would be overrun in short order.

Large empires, bah! The real test of skill in this universe is individual combat, not bunching together like sheep. Form your own individual empires, and the sweet taste of victory will be all your own.
If individual combat is the real test of skill, then you have no need to form an empire, do you? :) There are more than enough lone gunmen roaming around that do not need a so-called empire that is just a one person operation designed to be an ego booster. Afterall, there is no "I" in team.

To get back more toward the topic, which is major empires, even the best players on the board right now cannot break into the top 10 empire list by themselves. It would take a pair of top notch scorers to make it into the big leagues.

More reports to come later, including an expanded look at the original four victims in post #1. The Spymaster has to do some more recon missions.

Another mighty army of an empire is today's guest, The European Alliance:

Very Good : 7
Chaotic Good:33
Neutral :10
Chaotic Evil:18
Very Evil : 2
Overall alignment: 57.1% good.

Once divided by continual strife with one another, the nobles of Europe now disdain violence amongst themselves. They prefer a diplomatic solution when dealing with internal affairs. These negotiations can take an extreme amount of time and one can be left the false impression that they can get nothing done, but these proud nobles are no push overs. They fiercely battle to establish new colonies in the depths of space and to protect their interests. There are few that can match the combined might of the Euro warlords.

The Euros are civilized and refined, but well versed in military doctrine and thus ruthlessly effecient in battle. They are a rather reserved lot who speak little to outsiders, despite their colonial ambitions that have led to a respectable domination of the Metaverse. They are, to the rest of us, people of few words and many deeds.

Gerakken is currently on a special assignment. Your humble Spymaster will have more reports later in the week.

Waste of time or not, this overview of the "current" major empires gives begginers a better understanding about an empire's mettle. Plus the replies from members further reveals they're empire's soul. This method is much simpler for people who would rather do this then go look it up on the metaverse, thanx Garakken. :)

-Terran Federation-(live it up for the humans! The terran federation is humanity's strife over dominance over inferior races. Gross slimy aliens make good slaves, hehe. Please excuse me if it sounds a little Hitlerish)

Does the term "overload" come to mind, Gerakken? ;)
Indeed, the last week or so has been one giant overload because of things not related to the forum. I was thinking about putting a report up last night, but when I logged on, the map was changing before my eyes with the whole Freedom Force affair. Now that the map has settled down, it is time for me to go back undercover and stalk my prey. :)

Tonight, we re-visit the Mid-West Confederation (MWC) and explore it in more detail:

Very Good : 0
Chaotic Good:24
Neutral : 7
Chaotic Evil: 9
Very Evil : 0
Overall alignment: 72.7% good.

The MWC is a direct decendant of the USA of the 21st century. This complex society has both urban and rural interests that work together, but have very different roles and lifestyles. Official policy promotes a society of family values, clean living, and honest, hard working folks. Outsiders might confuse MWC slogans centered around people power and worker solidarity with old Communist rhetoric of the 20th century, but it is more in line with labor union activism. This satisfies the urban constituency who hold mainly manufacturing and service jobs.

But the dominant figures in the MWC social structure are large rural farm owners supported by farm labor, followed by almost equally valued small local family farmers. Agrarian landowners have great historical disdain for farm labor organizations, so outsiders tend to misunderstand the rural component of MWC society and fail to see how the urban and rural segments of this society can work together to become a very powerful force in the Metaverse.

MWC military doctrine is heavily influenced by an old American policy that placed major strategic assets in the middle of the USA. Specifically, ICBM silos and long range bombers equipped with cruise missiles. Today, the former plains states of America are still dotted with silos from which MWC Strategic Missile Command can rain a deadly hail of hyperspace missiles on spaceward opponents. The strategic bombers of old have been replaced by mighty space warships, but they are still equipped primarily with modernized versions of the old cruise missiles: highly agile and hard to track long range stand-off missiles capable of engaging targets over 50,000 km away. Even the smaller ships also have space torpedoes for finishing off targets at close range as well as short range interception of enemy missiles and fighters. This makes the MWC Space Fleet highly unusual in that other empires have a strong emphasis on energy weapons and space fighters. The MWC Fleet is highly capable and respected, especially at long range, but is weak against point-blank engagement and boarding tactics. But few can get close enough to exploit that vulnerability.
Ah now if someone could recruit enough "volunteers" in cheap ships to soak up all those missles, the MWC boys could run out of bullets in a long fight and be vulnerable... ;)
