Sometimes Technology Sucks.

I have a Samsung Captivate smart Phone. Love the phone it takes incredible video when you are without a camcorder. Here is the problem when I transfer the videos to my PC and then play them they are all upside down. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?

Well Doc as Usual the book has no information about exporting the videos. (at least in the english portion couldn't read the other 7 languages)

Try this nifty tool: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/free-video-flip-and-rotate.htm

I've used it myself.

If the phone is that smart, it should know which way is up. ;)

There is NO such thing as a smart phone ... implies intelligence.

No, the user is either smart or not so smart, and the phone's abilities are either used to their full potential or they are not.

In essence, then, the phone is only as smart as its user... which is why I have the most basic of basic phones. :-"

Hey WM2, I was looking at the specs provided on the Samsung Captivate Smartphone site. When it comes to the camera specs, this is what they have listed as features: [Auto Focus; Shot Modes: Single, Beauty, Smile. Continuous, Panorama, Vintage, Add me, Action, Cartoon; Smile Shot; Geo-tagging; Editing Modes; Camcorder; DivX®; HD Recording; HD Playback; TV-Out; Online Image Uploading]. My questions to you is, did you make any changes to the default settings? Reason for me asking; I have a Droid X Pro and when you go to capture video/pictures, it has a button on the side [albeit the phone is held upwards/sideways] and when you are ready to capture what you want; all you have to do is press this button. The capture is viewable either still picture or video, in the screen.

Should that not be the case with your specific phone, maybe there is a setting that needs to be adjusted in order to capture/record the event in the upright position???

Playing the videos back on the phone they are normal and in the right orientation .     I haven't knowingly made any changes to the settings but I will use the reset camera setting feature and see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks to everyone who has replied with suggestions.

Thanks Snowman that app works great.
