Looking for another RTS to play alongside SoaSE. It should be sci-fi, possibly modern as to support multithreading, and extensively moddable. any advice?

dont know about modding though, it is a game from a small company. not really on par with rebellion, but not bad either. unlike sins it has single-player campaign.
