Fallout3 mod “like a diamond in the sky” ran very smoothly (10 + hours real time) until game first loaded 'core' (an area) while I was still in drainage opening 'door' to core. Prior to this mod ran like a dream. I followed best practices for this mod/game: Did FO3 master update, have merged patch, auto saves turned off - game/mod ran very smooth until now. I'm in core and game repeatedly CTD - like every 90 seconds, especially when I touch an activator (open a door, fight a bot, etc.). Attempted fix implemented: turned graphics to low, graphic size to small and restarted PC (to clear RAM and reset any memory leaks). Still crashes repeatedly - like every 90 seconds. Any further suggestions, please?

EDIT: tried the ini fix:
Open up the fallout.ini file in: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 Find the line: bUseThreadedAI=0 change it to: bUseThreadedAI=1 Add another line after it and insert: iNumHWThreads=2 (fail try “1”) This will limit the game to 2 cores and prevent the engine bug from causing the game to freeze. - Not fix problem.
/end/
Found solution. Basic problem was a 'new fangled' armor set given by the Protagonist's current mentor. The helmet has many advanced features which are run by scripts. When I unequip the helmet, the game runs fine. /end of thread/
Is this for galciv2? If it is the modd sounds awesome. I wish I could help more but it sounds like a code error that's stuck in the game( u said it was before running before right before something happened with the cores I know nothing about) talk to gaunathor here he knows about tech issues and solutions.
tell em DARCA sent you. Lol
Hi Darca, I fixed it by plugging in different core numbers until one worked. Basically,I have to limit the game to two cores, its cant handle 4, Its a mod for the game fallout 3. I am eagerly waiting for GalCiv3....
edit. after removing helmet game ran fine...even reverted to multiple cores.
Testing new avatar.
@ darca, getting around to a new avatar?
EDIT it didn't work.
Testing an awesome avatar now had to edit the size but it's worth doing. and since the forum is dead. (sorry) It makes a good test for my avatar that now match's my name. I am DARCA! lol.
for the love of god were is the cool robot picture!!!!!!!
account/image/avatar shows my awesome photo. and for some reason the old ''balance'' photo, still shows up. weird?...?
Attempt #6
I have no problem testing in this thread. May I suggest you examine proposed avatar size, file format, etc. Avatars have to be quite small in size for the SD system to accept it. Sometimes, its a basic oversight we miss...
Cool Robot pic?
some help re: uploading avatar? https://forums.elementalgame.com/398802/page/2/#3436123 reply #28
Ok it should all work now. awesome avatar time...
but I did notice a ghost program on my desktop that flashes briefly... but ill take care of that later. (Half LOL)
I am DARCA.
A ghost avatar? What happened to the giant robot?
I still see the robot do you?
Depends on forum? At some of them you have standard blue head avatar, at some - this black/white blue-eyed someone/something.
Ok I've seen this happen with old forums lucky jack before he got a avatar, I'll be fine... I think.
Congrats Darca.... success with the quest for the giant robot avatar.
Thank you beautiful enchanted maiden. So for your praise I will not zap you with my lasers for spelling my name wrong "DARCA" is a acronym and should always be caped, twelve thirteen is my model number but doesn't have to be stated when addressing me. Fyi. I am not mad or offended or even crazy I'm just messing with you lol.
I thought caps was yelling?
Like JoeSmiker.
