Fox's Almost Human

So I read that the new show on Fox, Almost Human, is being cancelled - really bummed about it! I never watched it on time but it was set to record on my DVR and I thought it was a really cool sci-fi show. That genre hasn't really grabbed me much in the last couple years on TV but this one did. Yep, bummed.

i enjoyed that show. tv networks don't give new shows a chance anymore. ncis was a poorly rated show at first and now look at it. ironside was another new one that was cancelled after 4 or 5 episodes this season. i haven't seen the show "intelligence" on cbs for weeks either. was it cancelled too?

I'm no NCIS fan, but this is a slight exaggeration.  The least viewed episode of NCIS in season 1 had more viewers than the most viewed episode of Almost Human.  Ratings aren't quite the same as total viewers due to the demographics, but saying that NCIS was "poorly rated" at first isn't quite accurate - it had over 10 million viewers a week all throughout its first season.

Almost Human wasn't that well reviewed and its ratings had declined every week.  Fox also doesn't have patience with SciFi series.  It was inevitable that it was going to get canned.

I have found that 'generally,' good shows don't last on the big broadcast networks.  However, some of the smaller 'cable/net shows are really good.  Niche marketing is here to stay. Helix, on sci fi, and  hulu is interesting, with many plot twists. Many others like helix, that would not survive on a big broadcast network.

After Fox canceled Firefly back in 2002, I am unfortunately not really that surprise they canceled Almost Human. The whole sci-fi genre has been in decline ever since Sci-Fi replaced Stargate Atlantis after a run of only five seasons with Universe, which ended up not having what made SG-1 and Atlantis the shows Stargate fans enjoyed and ultimately contributed to abandonment of the third SG-1 film Revolution and the first Atlantis film Extinction.

wow. i state a FACT about NCIS and somebody wants to argue about it. the show was poorly received at first, according to various reports back in the day, and was lucky to have not been cancelled after the first season.

anyway, Almost Human being booted saddens me. the same goes for Intelligence. i enjoyed both shows quite a bit.

Crap, they kicked Intelligence also.  Damn, that was 2 show I liked and watched. X(

They did bring back one I liked but I don't know if it was just a fill in because they had a bunch made, (Unforgettable).

Indeed. "Lost" should have gotten lost.

NCIS hasn't been the same since Cote de Pablo left. "I knew Ziva. Bishop is no Ziva."  :S

Yeah, but at least she left in a decent way that didn't involve dying.

Firefly fans have been complaining about that for twelve years. My answer to the cancellation is the Fox executives who canceled Firefly are "going to burn in a very special level of Hell. One they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater."

Serenity is a film sequel released in 2005.

Is it really over? I just began watching the first couple of episodes from the firsts season last month after friends recommended it made for really good viewing - loved both Karl Urban as well as Michael Ealy in the show. I just read online that it did have a pretty sluggish start but then it picked up steam along the way... Sad -_-
