Want advice for creating a new internet username

Hey. I'm looking for advice for creating a new internet username. Long story short, I'm no longer as content with using my current internet username as I once was. I feel tempted to start over with a new name. You know, try something new with a blank slate (and no previous reputation). I feel almost constrained by my reputation (or what I think it is). Likewise, I don't feel comfortable with using the same name for every website, so I'm actually considering making several new ones.

I was wondering if anyone knows much about what I'm asking? Is there is any good advice? Is this a common thing to worry about? Should people have multiple internet usernames? How do you come up with good names?

Am I getting too worked up over this, or this a good thing to worry about?

Well you could always use your real name...  :-"

Stick to the one nick/avatar for ALL sites.  It will help force you to 'behave' appropriately on all of them....just like in 'real life' with a 'real name'.

The name does not need to be 'memorable'....what you say and do under that name will make it so.

Just ensure it becomes memorable for the RIGHT reasons...;)

You could be like me. Combine the names of characters from different eras and genres of TV. :)

For example, if you felt a certain affinity for Blackadder and Game of Thrones, you could go by the handle BaldrickStark. Your phrase of choice: "Brace yourselves - I have a cunning plan."

Sadly the internet is so huge now it's difficult to find a name not already in use.

Here I am Fuzzy Logic.

On another site I am Mr Spock.

On facebook I use my real name as I have nothing to hide :)

So...do what the earthlings did in "Alien Nation" when they had to come up with 5 million names quickly...pick names like Sam Francisco, Lars Angeles or North West ... whoops, that's taken...but Albert Einstein or Leon Trotsky aren't...at least by living people.
