Suggestions

I have a few different suggestions.

1. I've been focused on earning as many stars as I could and it occurred to me that they don't have any in-game value.  What is earned stars can be put toward unlocking upgrades or buffs for the support abilities like reducing cool down, increasing duration of deployment.

2. SmartGrid - SmartGrid is a simple feature that, when activated, will shift the tower placement outline over by the width or height of the tower being placed.  This will make it easier to quickly tetris in towers next to one another without accidentally leaving gaps between them.

3. Quick Select System for both keyboard and controllers.

As an alternative to the hotkeys, hitting a button or key would open up a quick select menu featuring the top row of towers.  The cursor by default would appear in the middle of the menu with the different tower icons appearing in a circle around it.  The desired tower could be selected by moving the mouse or tilting a stick in its direction.  The second set of towers would be in a second quick select menu and the support abilities would be in a third (and/or forth if needed).

4.  Potential Controller Layout for PC/Mac and Consoles.

(By default each tower would be toggled to place multiples until placement is cancelled or a new tower/ability is selected.)

I thought I would revive this topic rather than posting this.

I forgot the name of the cannon, the huge railgun turret, but it needs some work.  The deep thudding is great.  I love the feeling of satisfaction each time that thing fires a round.  I even love the slight screen shake each time it fires.  It gives wonderful feedback that meaningful and powerful tower is doing its work.  But, the tower screen shake needs to be reworked.  As it is, when several of them are firing, the shake effects compound and make it almost impossible to accurately place towers.

1: We have changed the unlocks several times now. I don't believe this is the final version yet.

2. I'll pass this on, not sure how much programming time is required for it though.

3 & 4: Sorry but we have no plans for controller support. I don't think that is going to change in the foreseeable future.

Yeah, we tried having objectives give you more equip points. And we tried having objectives give you score and score unlocked things. Both were to complex. We don't want player to feel like they have to get objectives, they are for gold staring levels, but aren't required to continue playing at a reasonable difficulty. In other words I want to be able to balance without assuming that you have all the objectives met.

Besides, tying objectives to in game perks means that the best players (that get the objectives) find that the game is easier (because they have the perks). While the less advanced players (that didn't get all the objectives) find that it is harder. Its the exact opposite of what we would want.

So instead objectives just give a significant score bonus, so it is the way you rise above other people in the leaderboards.
