I find the background image of the map a little off-putting regarding trying to see small details. Is there a way to change the background to some neutral color or image? Thanks!
I think so. Try this:
Options -> Interface -> Nebula Opacity
Move the slider to 0. The background image should be gone now. You may need to restart the program for it to take effect.
As Divine says you can adjust the opacity. This was a requested feature from some before. I don't think we have a way to replace it though.
