I just purchased, and installed Ashampoo Driver Updater. Defender popped up with warnings, so I sent it to Virus Total. Results are below. With all the Red Flags I'm wondering - Is this safe?
Hello,
I have forwarded your report to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.
Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates.
We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.
I ddg'd "ashampoo driver updater warnings" and found it triggers eset, and others. That could be a true positive or false positive depending where you obtained the software, and whether it came bundled or not.
ashampoo support answered this issue in the past:

Ashampoo also might put you on automatic billing for renewals without asking nor sending a warning:

If you dl'd the software from SD or Ashampoo, I think you're dealing with a "whitelisting" issue with Windows Defender, etc.
If you dl'd from a different source, on the other hand...well...
I never understood SD partnering with Spamshampoo nevertheless.
