No i mean the type of transparency that you can use when you have the niobium blue skin

Nothing will capture transparency as the background will be shown

There also exists a form of transparency where you can see through something, i.e the sheets used with over head projectors, and the niobium blue skin entered into the guiolympics by bones2112

say i have a transparent blue gradient over my desktop, you see it as a transparent blue gradient which fades out hte background. a screenshot will capture exactly what you see.. the transparency included... if you want to just take an application or window, hold the alt+winkey+print screen and it will take only that window. with object desktop loaded tho, those programs sometimes interfere and get captured instead. so for best results turn off objectbar and object dock then make the window you want to capture active, then hit the keys
